They all tend to have many issues and problems of their own but maintain a great bond with each other. A show similar to this, with the same name, was first aired in Singapore back in 1995. It was the first local drama that aired in Singapore and was a huge success and won various awards, including the Best Comedy Program or Series award. It talks about the struggles and challenges that people face daily. The characters’ journeys are intervened, allowing viewers to witness their personal and professional growth and the intricate dynamics of their relationships. It encompasses the themes of love, friendship, and family.

The Feel-Good Part

The audience appreciated the different aspects of the drama, such as strong character development, emotional depth, robust and engaging storyline, relatable themes, humorous characters, etc.

The Disappointing Factor

The show was great, besides a few minor flaws. Some of the viewers found the storyline less appealing and said that the whole story was dragged. A few characters did not undergo character development, and their scenes made the show quite dull and uninteresting to watch.

In-Depth Analysis

It was directed by Hong Yuru and is known as “Yi Ge Wu Yan Xin.” It was first released in Mandarin language and was later dubbed into the English language after it gained popularity. The show has a multiracial cast of characters. It explores the stories of a family Chinese family living in the area of Bhishan North in Singapore. The main character owns a mini-mart along with his family members and his neighbors. They all live together in an apartment building and share a great bond. The main character usually shares stories that he has faced for this long as a motive to spread a moral lesson among his friends and family. The show has aired in multiple countries like Australia, France, Canada, etc., and achieved an overwhelming response.

Star Power

The main characters and the supporting characters did a fantastic job in running the series. Yankee Yang played the role of Jiang Ren Hao, Zach Lu played the role of Qiao Fan, Diane Lin played the role of Zhang You Yue, Kurt Chou played the role of Zhang You Nian, Wu Jia Shen played the role of Zhang Chen Lai Ho, and Tina Chou played the role of Chen Wen Qi.
