Drama Digest
Liu Song Dynasty is powerful with aristocrats clamouring for leverage. The people of the Liu Song Dynasty has perished to come about the chaos. The younger emperor, Liu Yi Kang is desperate to bring peace in his nation. Liu Yi Kang, is the son if emperor Wu of Liu Song, the founder of the Dynasty. Liu Yi Kang is willing to do anything that will save it’s people, but was not going to be easy. Yi Kang’s list of allies is thriving thin as country’s influential families are planning against him. To strengthen his position he allied with a mighty family, and agreed to coalition through marriage with the Shen family. Shen family can provide strength Yi Kang needs to set the reform required to oust the aristocrats propensity on demolishing the nation as the Shen family has roots with military. With Shen Li Ge by his side, they begin the task of reformation. Yi Knag and Li Ge must use their strength to defeat their foes while facing nation’s most powerful and corrupt clans. But the cost of peace in this battle is tremendous. In the midst of heartache and despair will they find a way to heal the wounds of a broken nation and mend the wounds of their broken hearts.
The Feel-Good Part
The cast was perfect. The production team did a splendid job. The characters had amazing chemistry between them.
The Disappointing Factor
The never ending cycle of set-up, getting caught made the script unoriginal. Some scenes were draggy. The palace design was not authentic. The editing and length of the drama were the major cons.
In-Depth Analysis
The story is about a badass assassin Shen Li Ge and Liu Yi Kang l, titled prince who was known for reforms that heralded a golden age for Liu Song Dynasty. Shen Li Ge is strong, badass, and gorgeous. Her character is the strongest selling point of the drama. She was awesome till the end. Both the characters were on the same wavelength. All the characters were fantastic. The characters were adequately written. The villains were also enjoyable. Lu Yuan was an overpowering villain. The plot was predictable. The drama is set in the mid 30s when the villains were most developed.
Star Power
Li Qin as the lead actress did a fascinating job. She was powerful, engaging, and her expressions were on point. Qin Hao is a compelling actor. The character are portrayed charismatically. Every member of the cast was superb. The cast was appropriately selected for the role.
Overall Opinion
The Song of glory is a nice historical Chinese drama. The drama is recommended to watch. Being a historical drama it is not boring but engaging.
