Drama-digest

Si Xiao Nian, the ladylike proprietor of a clothing store, and the gentleman Yan Wu Ming got married. Nevertheless, on the day of their wedding, the two parted ways one after the other. It turned out that they were both lying about who they were. The two become deeply entangled as they confront their intense love and hidden desires.

The feel-good part

The program’s brief runtime prevented filler episodes or extraneous drama, which was incredibly enjoyable to watch. It was adorable, like having a strong female lead who could defend herself, and the actors did a great job of conveying their feelings. This drama is amusing and has a knack for making me laugh, but as the jokes get a little stale and repetitive, it quickly loses its novelty and comic effect. The drama also does a fantastic job of striking a balance between humor and seriousness; the first few episodes leading up to the climax were heavily focused on comedy, but after that, it becomes less so.

The disappointing factor

Although it is intended to be friendly, treating Bao’er like a helpless infant who can’t take care of herself could be incredibly condescending to those who are blind. Better, accurate subtitles could make watching the show more accessible. Additionally, while the idea is admirable, the implementation must be improved.

In-depth analysis

Except for Wen Fang, all the characters—even supporting ones like the aunty who sells kites—were likable. You can’t criticize him because of the way he was portrayed, which made him seem foolish but also highly pure. Just be aware that he can occasionally be both annoying and cute.

For a play with 180 minutes, the production values also appear high. You’ll also like how the scriptwriter uses the fl profession to discuss specific subjects. This drama has a diversity of outfits, a fantastic soundtrack, and both. The camera language and editing were generally good, except for one or two situations where the episode’s beginning and concluding scenes didn’t link. Aside from that, the drama’s production staff did a terrific job. For a budget drama, the action scenes and overall aesthetic are good, and the action is fast-paced to fit the limited number of episodes.

Star power

All cast members did an excellent job playing their characters, and the main leads’ chemistry is a plus. In contrast to other short dramas, the acting is natural and not forced. Although the conclusion appeared terrible initially, a closer look reveals that Sir Xiaonan’s employer, the Duke, and Yan Wuming’s employer, the Prince, had planned to fake their deaths so they might live in peace. A catchy finale! Most supporting cast members are likable and aren’t overly bothersome or evil. The FL and ML are decent people who do not hunt down innocent people, despite being hired killers.

Overall opinion

It was very well-produced together. They didn’t seem overly low-budget (perhaps because it was brief). Everyone was helpful, and no one was ever obnoxious. There were amusing, serious, romantic, and depressing moments. The conclusion was too nicely wrapped up. A straightforward, humorous story is often all you need. Therefore, this hidden gem deserves greater attention.
