Drama Digest

The story takes place in 2008 and centers on a group of friends who met at university and whose relationship grew despite coming from diverse backgrounds, having different personalities, and each fighting their war.

A miscommunication brought Shan Nian and Lin Xiao together, but Shan Nian is now eager to become friends with Lin Xiao. He believed they could be excellent friends, but Lin Xiao consistently turned him down. Despite having somewhat diverse personalities. While Lin Xiao is the one with a great sense of self-worth, Shan Nian is too direct.

Additionally, Wu Minghao lures Xie Tingfeng, our “tiger girl.” A mysterious and attractive man who keeps his distance from others while being sensitive and nice, making him a little bit mysterious.

These students eventually became friends after experiencing many highs and lows, rejections and acceptances, thus this is the tale of their time at university.

The Feel-Good Part

I adore this drama, and the only negative thing I can say about it is that it has one of two flaws. I’d love to appreciate the storyline and script. I’m a huge fan of excellent writing and the way it’s done. I would therefore like to commend the producers on their script creation and execution. The dialogue was really lovely. Furthermore, it isn’t a cliché; it’s a traditional one. Sincerely, I adore Shan Nian and Lin Xiao’s friendship. They had the best chemistry. I adore their jealousy and friendship. Sincerely, I think it goes beyond simple friendships. I also adore our sexy, enigmatic Wu Minghao since he keeps to himself while remaining non-rebellious. This drama’s lead actress is really lovely.

The Disappointing Factor

I adore this drama, but up to only episode 23. What transpired to them in episode 24 is unknown to me. I have no idea what the authors did. I understand that the ending is somewhat satisfactory, but I still find the way Ming Hao acts toward Ting Feng when he declares, “I’m heading to America,” to be bittersweet rather than happy. I always walked away believing it to be a one-sided affection. Additionally, Shao Nian made a horrible choice by excluding Lin Xiao from his life. I just want to know what happens to them after graduation, so I’m hopeful that this drama will have a second season. The primary flaw in this play is that there are a lot of unanswered questions.

In-Depth Analysis

Although China claims that Shao Nian and Lin Xiao have a true bromance, I believe they have a BL, and I genuinely adore it. They seemed to want to take things further all along, but they were simply afraid to confess their feelings. But it was clear that Shao Nian was in love with Lin Xiao from the way he becomes envious if someone else tries to talk to him. I’ve always believed that Ting Feng deserves more because Ming Hao never seemed to be in love with her. I, therefore, feel a little sorry for her. Having friendship, love, challenges, acceptance, and even rejection, this drama is beautiful.

In addition to the chemistry they shared as a potential love interests, they also got along well as friends. They were just regular college students trying to make sense of life who came together and became friends despite being vastly different from one another. In all honesty, it’s a typical college life narrative. It has a familiar and wistful feeling. However, if you’re hoping for a fairytale conclusion, let me tell you that it doesn’t. Don’t get close to any of the characters because it’s a bittersweet story.

Star Power

In terms of acting and chemistry, the cast nailed. The cast accomplished the drama’s primary goal, which was to depict the campus life of roughly 20-year-old students. Shao Nian and Lin Xiao, played by Xu Xin Chi and Chen Mu, were amusing. I adore their interplay. I enjoyed their bromance in this show. Wang Yue Yi and Wang Yi Jun made the ideal Xie Ting Feng and Wu Ming Hao. Ting Feng as the tiger girl is extremely adorable, and Ming Hao is our gorgeous mysterious boy.

Overall Opinion

Sincerely, I adore this drama; it’s a classic. Unknown individuals attempting friendship or perhaps anything more. The drama includes everything you’d love to watch, including friendship, highs, and lows, love, and hate. I hope there will be a second season of this drama because the finale is a bittersweet one and I felt like the producers left us on a cliffhanger. Furthermore, even though China calls this a bromance, I feel like it’s a Chinese BL drama without any kisses and hugs. Therefore, I always watch this show. You should watch this if you want to see a decent bromance, especially a classic one.
