Drama Digest
Mei wei wei is an extraordinary girl who has the energy to make guys fall in love with her, she can quite literally shock them into falling in love. She was born electrified and one of the things mein wei hates about herself. One day she meets a swimmer from her class and she accidentally ends up “shocking” him, making him fall in love with her instantly. This swimming legend is Mai si Chong, a guy with no experience in romance. He is a bold yet sensitive personality guy and once he is shocked, he makes all the efforts he can to win mei wei over. Mei wei always wanted to be an ordinary girl, but when a handsome guy is finally in love with her, will she accept the love and her powers or will she let it all go?
The Feel-Good Part
I like that it is a fun and light drama, modern Chinese romances have such a unique storyline, who would have thought they would make a show about being charmed and shocked by love, quite literally? The actors are cute and the female lead is so adorable.
The Disappointing Factor
The series is a bit cliched and that was disappointing for me, although we cannot make a perfectly unique project, it would have been nice not to see the cringe-cliched scenes for once.
In-Depth Analysis
I liked the show because it was fun and easy. I did enjoy watching it to a certain point but after like 10 episodes, I was skipping ahead and putting it on in fast forward. I dislike Chinese dramas for having long-running episodes where the story was just dragged without having any consistency. I liked the leads, they were cute and they acted reasonably. The series was shot well, the production was done perfectly. The script was okay, could have been far better but I liked that it was unique. It was a bit predictable and felt forced to make it longer than ten episodes honestly, would have made the show much more interesting to watch.
Star Power
The series was well made and the actors portrayed their characters very well, an honest compliment to the storyline as they brought their characters to life.
Overall Opinion
Overall, the theme behind the show has been kept well. It is a fun and light watch, does not make you think and the leads are adorable. Cringey and cliched but suitable for a one-time watch.
