Drama Digest:

The Feel-Good Part:
The story is progressive. It shows an independent strong woman who resolves the problem of not only home but also outside. Her husband’s constant support to stand by her side is heart-warming to watch. Though there is a love triangle, it is not that annoying. Viewers might not even notice a love triangle till the end. Hence the direction is worth appreciation. The OSTs are mild and soothing. The humor is also good. Their comic timing of actors is excellent.
Star Power:
Bai Lu as Shao Chun didn’t fail to meet viewer’s expectations. She is perfect for this role. Wang Yi Zhe as Yun Lou couldn’t portray his character quite well. His acting is stiff.
The Disappointing Factor:
The story didn’t continue the way it has started. The plot is incredible, but it fails to portray the meaning of it instead, it becomes a chaotic opera-type drama. The drama is female-centric which is good, but to create a female-centered drama, they make the male characters idiots, which is quite unrealistic. You can’t feel the chemistry between the leads until the last episode. The family drama sometimes seems unpleasant that might make viewers skip some parts. It could have progressed at a better pace. At the end, even the humor doesn’t make you laugh. Overall at first, the drama starts with a good plot, with but it fails to meet that expectation.

The story of the drama is a positive factor. Such a strong female lead with potential is rare to watch. Shao Chun’s sense of justice, her potential to resolve a problem makes her a magnificent character. In that time period, when women did not get enough education, Shao Chun is a worth appreciating character. The character of Yun Lou and his constant support to his wife indicates a healthy relationship.
Overall Opinion:
The drama can have mixed reviews among audiences. Those who prefer female-centered drama, will like it but those who want to watch a drama with a good blend of every material, will be disappointed. Although the drama starts with a good plot but it couldn’t keep with the level till the end. In the middle, it has become quite messy, but the drama is watchable. Hence viewers can give it a try according to their preferences.
