Drama Digest

The Chinese drama depicts Xia An Sheng, a honest and pure scholar who must choose between Mo Ze Chen, the Tsundere school bully, and Yan Mu, the kind and sweet popular girl. It’s a love story about growing up through joy and sorrow.

The Feel-Good Part

The adorable bits were enjoyable (not overbearing, but adequate), and the performers’ chemistry was excellent. I enjoyed the time jump as well. And, for the first time, the female protagonist chooses the gentle bad boy best friend over the all-rounder popular guy. Overall, a pleasant piece, not quite top-tier but not quite web-drama. There are certain portions that are quite heartwarming and adorable. However, there are vital lessons to be learned from this drama.

The Disappointing Factor

The overall plot was not horrible, but there appeared to be a few essential parts missing, in my opinion. They virtually bypass high school and college life and jump right into working adulthood, making the plot seem disjointed. The plot also appears to skim the top of everything, implying that the budget is a factor. It does not dive into the subject further, therefore it does not appear to be “all-encompassing.” I honestly just ignored parts of this drama while viewing it.

In-Depth Analysis

For an unknown cause, Xia An Sheng, a second-year high schooler, transferred to Chenguang College. She shared a table with campus bully Mo Ze Chen and shared a house with her aunt as well as her aunt’s stepson, who despised her. Xia An Sheng, who had hoped to go peacefully after attaining her aim, was pushed to the edge of the storm by the succeeding accidents while interacting with Mo Ze Chen and Yan Mu, which was in direct opposition to her original goal. Furthermore, the ostensibly tranquil high school campus is teeming with not only newly minted adolescent hormones, but also with youth and ignorance, all of whom are grappling with good and evil. What happens if Xia An Sheng’s secret is discovered?

Star Power

The male lead character, who is humorous, mischievous, and fearless, fared exceptionally well. He is someone who ensures the continuation of the series! The supporting characters are well-played and have a good amount of depth.

Overall Opinion

Overall, a pleasant youth drama with all of the expected features but a unique tale. Look for another drama if you’re seeking for anything captivating.
