Drama Digest
Mortal Housewife is a short length drama series aired in 2022. The plot of the mini-drama revolves around Ai Qing, who is pampered and loved by her parents. She falls in love with an ordinary man, Li Da Li, who is a hairdresser. The two of them get married and Li Dali starts handling the start-up business, which was funded by Ai Qing’s parents. While the business was running smoothly, Ai Qing got pregnant. She was sent home away from the business by her husband as working could negatively affect her pregnancy. However, when Ai Qing doesn’t have a successful pregnancy, her mother-in-law moves in with them, and their lives turn into a daily war.
The Feel-Good Part
The pace of the storyline is fast paced which will surely save a lot of your time. The series has several twists and turns, which will keep you hooked on it till the end. The character of Ai Qing is written very nicely, and feels empowering to watch a female know her worth and take her stand.
The Disappointing Factor
The major disappointing factor of Mortal Housewife is that some of the actors went a little overboard while playing their roles. Secondly, though Mortal Housewife is a short series, as the storyline was interesting, a little extra few minutes or episodes could have been better and satisfied the viewers.

The mini-series Mortal Housewife is kind of a surprise package, as the storyline and screenplay were surprisingly excellent. The good screenplay and narration were supported by excellent acting by some of the actors. While many viewers might find the storyline cliché but the storyline does relate to real life even now. The character of the female lead was specially written nicely as even after going through betrayals, the female lead, instead of being helpless, which is mostly seen in Asian dramas, the female lead was seen being strong and determined for revenge. The torture of the mother-in-law on Ai Qing was well acted, which is a crucial point in the drama series. This series explores the theme of adultery where the male lead Li Da Li cheats on his wife and plans to divorce her. However, the twists and turns as the story unfolds will certainly keep you hooked and entertained till the very end.
Star Performance
Sun Yu Han plays the role of Ai Qing, Tao Zui plays the role of Li Da Li, and Zhang Ai Yue plays the role of Xu Chun Zhi. The supporting roles are played by Dong Xin Yun as Zhu Xiao Qin and Wang Xing Wei as Guo Yu.

Mortal Housewife started as a romantic drama as the storyline showed a city girl and a country boy falling in love with each other. However, the unfolding of the storyline will shake the viewers as it turns from a romance drama to a mystery-revenge drama. The background score and narration of the story are outstanding and enhance the quality of the series. Overall, you are recommended to watch this short series if you like the genre of revenge.
