Drama Digest

Shen Fang of the KMT Military Headquarters’ Intelligence Department rejoined the group after the Anti-Japanese War was won in 1945. Since Mr. Ren was appointed, he has started to choose party traitors, acquiring the “Lingzhi Project” and discrediting the “Jinling Association” plot.

The long-term existence of a spy is usually grim. She still feels physically and psychologically weary despite the assistance and care provided by the charity. His brain still contains shrapnel that torments him continuously and poses a hazard to whatever action he does. The Shen brothers start the game, become stuck, and figure out how to win gradually by breaking the system.

The Feel-Good Part

Although there were 49 episodes, it never seemed like that many. A very appropriate and endearing romance between the younger brother and his wife—whom he only began to love more deeply after marriage—was interwoven. The spying within enemy lines simply kept me going. It was so intense and suspenseful that one couldn’t help but stay up late into the night to watch more episodes. It was excruciating  and heart-wrenching to see each of the communist individuals sacrifice themselves.

The Disappointing Factor

The only things missing were the torture and gruesome parts that might not be so comfortable for some viewers, which would have brought up the value of this drama.

In-Depth Analysis

The story revolves around two brothers, Shen Lin and Shen Fang, and their opposing political ideologies. They initially belonged to several revolutionary factions, but because of their shared convictions, they eventually joined the revolutionary wave and battled together. Shen Fang of the Kuomintang Military Command HQ’s Intelligence Department returned to the group following the Anti-Japanese War’s 1945 triumph. He established contact with Mr. Ren, started to identify his party’s traitors, acquired the “Ganoderma Lucidum Plan,” and put an end to the “Jinling Society’s” well-planned operation.

Lengthy, inert life remained perpetually in the dark. Shen Fang continued to feel physically and psychologically fatigued despite the assistance and care provided by the organization, and the shrapnel still lodged in his brain taunted him and posed a threat to his every move at any time. The challenges, though, don’t end there. He was left defenseless and in danger due to his ongoing disagreement with his father and his older brother, Shen Lin’s mistrust, bewilderment, and monitoring of him. A long-planned “game” eventually came to light, and a game of life and death gradually started. The identically matched Shen brothers started their game, got stuck in a riddle, drowned in a little impasse, broke through the game, took every step, and eventually won the turning point for the final triumph.

Star Power

Each character was skillfully woven into the story from the first to the last episode, and their feelings were realistically expressed and easily understood. The cast is nothing short of outstanding, and it is impossible not to be surprised at how amazing a cast has been put together.

Overall Opinion

This is another espionage drama that comes highly recommended if you enjoy them. In contrast to those every day “lovey-dovey” dramas, which are typically rather difficult to accept in reality, at least it keeps your mind active.
