Drama Digest

The drama features seven BL stories that depict seven different aspects of a gay relationship. It includes every side of the relationship, be it an ambiguity, misunderstanding, growth, foreign land, secret love, or loss. The story puts forward seven major questions regarding a relationship and even somewhat answers a few of them. The first question is that does it require a reason to love someone? Secondly, have you ever fallen in love with someone who is of the same sex, secretly?  Thirdly, when you are in love, do you feel like you have someone you can regard as home? The fourth question is, did you ever regret starting a relationship? The fifth question is, have you ever experienced long-distance relationships? The sixth question is, did you ever fall in love with someone in your office, started a relationship and experienced office romance? Seventh and the last question being, did your life change once you came forward?

The Feel-Good Part

The best part is the drama is based on true stories. Another highlight would be how every episode was complete in itself, and it felt like a short film. The drama portrays seven different aspects of gay romance and has seven episodes. So, each episode is dedicated to one particular theme. As a result, it provides a very enjoyable, wholesome experience. Also, although I don’t suggest it because each story is worth it, in case you don’t like a particular story and you want to avoid it, then you can because the story isn’t interdependent. Furthermore, all different scenarios like secret love, long-distance, office romance, etc., are covered in the series. Hence, everyone has something that they can relate to.

The Disappointing Factor

If we take an overall view and consider all the BL on a global level then this show isn’t something too astonishing. Despite being nice, the storyline is too basic, and there are much better BL options available out there. As a result, the majority of the people might find the story too plain and choose to skip it. Moreover, something else which isn’t exactly a disappointment but could be pointed out would be how the entire show has a sweet and primarily happy vibe. Whereas in contrast to this episode 4th, has a very gloomy vibe. This might deject numerous people, and they might even see it as a hindrance in the path of their lively entertainment.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama can be regarded as an out-of-the-box type of story if we consider that it is a Chinese drama. The point is we generally don’t get many BL stories by Chinese industry. So, although it is launched online instead of TV, it provides us with the hope that maybe in future we will get to witness more BL Chinese dramas, that too on platforms such as the national TV. The drama provides you with intel into the daily life of gay people. You get to witness the struggles they face in their love life or even in general. Thus, the drama is very pleasing. The drama’s plot is sweet and guarantees you loads of fun and overwhelming emotions.

Star Power

As far as the cast is concerned, ‘Tu Dou Chun Yi Lang’ plays one of the characters. We get to see him as Xuan, the main character of the story shown in the first episode. ‘Jun Yuan Bai’ can be seen as Bu, the other main character of the first episode story. They together did a great job. Actors such as ‘Zhang Jia Hang’ are also part of the supporting cast.

Overall Opinion

The drama is not at all complex, and it has a straightforward story that is quite heartwarming. Thus; this show is perfect for the time when you are looking for something that doesn’t require a majority of your attention, or you are following every character extremely close to undoing the hidden mystery. But instead, you just simply get to enjoy the light storyline – this show is perfect for that.
