Drama Digest

Princess Li Yun Zhen of the Grand Kingdom is said to lead a lavish life, surrounded by numerous bodyguards who supposedly serve as her companions. She’s believed to lack compassion and show no mercy. Despite these rumors, she wields significant political influence within the royal court. To expose her alleged corruption and bring her down from power, the Emperor dispatches the attractive Gu Xuan Qing to infiltrate the Princess’ estate. However, the deeper the royal guard delves into the true nature of the Princess, the more he realizes that she contradicts the gossip. Unexpectedly, he finds himself falling for her.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama talks about and involves a lot of scenes and topics that are not talked about and are usually ignored. The storyline is excellent, provided such less time. The drama is mainly centered on the female lead. She plays the role of a great and firm leader.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama does not involve any character development or an unexpected plot that one can look forward to. It’s an okay drama and needs a bit of work on the storyline, only if it was longer.

In-Depth Analysis

The story’s focus truly centers on the princess, as she skillfully portrays herself as naive, biding her time until the perfect moment to defeat the antagonist. She’s self-reliant and to taunt the male lead playfully and when to adopt a more serious demeanor. It’s worth noting that the main characters share a remarkable physical appearance, complementing each other perfectly. Their connection and chemistry are extraordinary, creating a captivating bond between them. The story unfolds in a historical era characterized by harsh penalties, where even minor errors resulted in physical punishment, and going against royalty was considered a grave offense. This short drama is unique because, despite its brief episodes (usually around 1 minute each, except for the final episode, which is a bit longer), it effectively captures viewers’ interest and includes a compelling storyline. The production and editing teams deserve credit for ensuring the episodes don’t feel disconnected or hurried despite their short duration.

Star Power

The cast did an excellent job with their roles. Qi Xia Xia played the role of Li Yun Zhen, Jin Chao played the role of Gu Xuan Qing, Zhuang Han played the part of the Lord Prime Minister, and Zhi Zhu was involved as well.

Overall Opinion

The show is great and has a few minor flaws. However, it’s a short yet N EXCITING drama. You should watch it, if you’re into historical dramas.
