Drama Digest
Dream of Chang’an is a Chinese historical drama also known by name STAND BY ME. This drama is adopted from a famous Chinese novel, Jian Qi Hang, authored by Fei Hua. The story initiated in Tai’an in the 9th century. It begins with the eunuchs gaining control of the palace during the emperor Wen Zong’s reign. To free the empire from the fists of eunuchs, the emperor Wen Zong plots a secret plan which ends in a catastrophe, leading to the death of prime minister Wang Ya’s entire kin except for his twin granddaughters, Cheng Ruo Yu and Chou Yan Zhi, but destiny leads the twin sisters to their separation. The younger sister gets adopted by Ziyi Bureau and assumes the name of Yu Bing Er. The elder sister, who is keen on getting revenge, becomes the goddaughter of Chou Shi Liang and changes her name to Yan Zhi. After seven years of this unfortunate incident, the emperor Li Yan ascends to the throne. As the emperor resorts to using Ziyi Bureau to fight Chou Shi Liang, the two twin sisters meet as deadly rivals, unable to recognize their blood relations.
The Feel-Good Part
The romantic duo, emperor Li Yan and Ruo Yu’s pair, is an absolute delight to watch. The actor Cheng Yi who played the role of Emperor Li Yan increased the depth of his position by his acting and expressions. Apart from the enchanting love story between the main leads, the sister bond shown between the twins was absolutely fascinating. The music which stood as the soul of the story must be given immense credit.
The Disappointing Factor
The narrative could have been a little faster. There are some scenes which you may feel to be slow and lagging.

The story contains love, kinship, hatred, betrayal, sadness, tragedy, etc. Overall the story will leave you with great satisfaction by showing you the essence of every human emotion.

It is an absolute pleasure to watch for the people who are shipping the lead actors Cheng Yi and Zhang Yuxi pair.
