Drama digest
A 17-year-old girl, Lu Yue Er is a hard-working, courageous, and kind girl. She has an optimistic, responsible, and easy-going personality. She follows strong principles for which she doesn’t suffer and is as tenacious as wild grass. Hua Yi Nan is a handsome lord of Huajian. He is popular among the people but has a dark side. The owner of a noodle restaurant with good food and civilization on a small island, Lu Yue Er was oppressed by her stepmother. But still chooses to be positive and treats everyone kindly. The owner of the island was confused and married Hua Yi Nan. But still, she didn’t expect that Hua Yi Nan who chased get had a strong purpose. Hua Yi Nan’s parents wished that he should marry Lu Yue Er before inheriting the island. Later she realised that she was used by Hua Yi Nan, and she chooses to believe in him and stays with him. In the end, Hua Yi Nan realised that he loves Lu Yue Er.
The feel-good part
The female lead’s performance was awesome. The costumes used in the drama were fantastic. The sets were also pretty. The overall story and plot were decent and it was a watchable drama.
The disappointing factor
The story was simple but it had holes. It jumped from one scene to another different scene. The story had potential but it was fully utilised.
In-depth analysis
It is a historical drama with a comic tone. The main leads had great chemistry and the interactions between them were enjoyable. There was authenticity in the intimate scenes of the male and female leads. It was partly xianxia and partly non-xianxia. Another story was revolving around cuisines and food. It was quite enjoyable light watch the drama. Some kind of xianxia was introduced in beginning but it was not fully explained or developed in the story. The storyline was great and the visuals were done brilliantly.
Star power
The actors did great. Huang Sheng Chi is good looking and his portrayal of Hua Yi Nan was convincing. Zheng He Hui Zi’s portrayal was also convincing and arrogant. Their dynamics were authentic together. The second couple was also quite enjoyable to watch. The supporting cast was great in their respective roles.
Overall opinion
The drama is not something extraordinary or dull, it is easy-going to watch. The endings had many plot holes and many things were left unexplained. Overall it was a light-hearted entertainment drama.
