Drama Digest

Due to the combination of strange situations, Xu Chun Chun has attracted the attention of Zhou Jun Jue, who has a reputation as a world-leading tea merchant. They intend to marry her to her dear son, Zhou Jun Jue, who is the legitimate heir of her family. Xu Chun Chun may be the only daughter of her silk house, but she is always oppressed by her stepmother. As a way out of their situation, Xu Chun Chun bites his teeth and accepts the proposal. She doesn’t want anything but her divorce, but she’s in trouble because Zhou Jun Jue fell in love with her.

The Feel-Good Part

They are Guo Zi Fan and Li Mo Zhi a pretty good match. Personally, in this drama, Li MoZhi may seem a little more mature than GuoZi Fan, but this isn’t surprising as he’s four years older in real life. The pair doesn’t look accurate, but unlike the Liang Jie and Xing Zhao Lin, it doesn’t feel like a perfect pairing either.

The Disappointing Factor

The only reason I gave Tsubaki Romance a slightly higher score is because the drama is much shorter. The story is a bit more palatable because there are so many jealous third parties that fit into it. Given the less popular cast, if you’re looking at this as a low-expected fill-in drama, you’ll enjoy it even more. But if you start expecting originality and fluffy romance, won’t be very pleasant. There are romantic comedy tips, but it’s not a fearless watch like General’s Lady or your sensibility my destiny. The reason is simple-it uses jealous love rivals to move the show forward.

In-Depth Analysis

A sweet romance between two frenemies is told in this drama, the only daughter of a silk merchant family, Xu Chunchun (portrayed by Li Mozhi), who wants a fresh start in life. Zhou Jun Jue (played by Guo Zifan) is the son of the family that is referred to as the ‘World’s Best Tea Merchant,’ and could move away from her stepmother and pursue her entrepreneurial dreams. Basically, Tsubaki’s romance is about a rich and handsome young man who is a great catch for her husband. But he only looks at one woman who is the love of his life. In short, three jealous women are chasing our hero. Subsequent females pose a greater threat than previous females. The first female is a male cousin, who appears in episodes 7-9. The second goes to school with him and is in the limelight in episodes 13-17. The last is a ruthless princess, which causes havoc to the main couple from episodes 20 to 24. In addition to that, the jealous childhood friend of the female protagonist who appeared after the 5th episode can also be watched, so the focus of this drama can be clearly seen. I want a man or a woman, so I tear up a couple with about four people. These plans are dotted with sweet interactions between reeds and investigations into the death of male reed’s father.

Star Power

If there’s one good thing worth mentioning about this drama, it might be the female character Chun Chun. She is a very independent and confident woman and the ambition to start her own business. She’s not as mature and intelligent as Jun Jiu Ling’s female leader, but at least she’s not shy and waiting for help. Chun Chun is a woman who knows what she wants and works to get it. Male characters are clever, but tend to hide problems from loved ones in the name of love and protection. You will find this in many romance dramas, and the male lead does it several times in Camellia Romance. I understand why he does so, but if you’re a Chinese drama viewer, you’ll find this to be another love drama you’ve watched over and over again.

Overall Opinion

Given the clichés and the very average production, I don’t think we can appreciate it any further. If you don’t mind the theme of jealousy, it’s still worth a look. Otherwise, if you have other dramas on your watch list, it’s a waste of time.
