South Korea's drama and music have been the new trend in the global entertainment industry. Several K-pop songs are reaching the top spots on the Billboard rankings. Especially among youngsters, Korean is the newest trend. Bands like BTS and Blackpink have recently surged heavily in popularity. Their songs are reaching every corner of the earth and their sales reaching new heights. Not only them, but several K-pop groups have also amassed mass popularity. Even newly founded groups are quickly picking up pace. As a result of all this buzz, several bands are being established every year. Here, we have put together a list of the ten South Korean girl bands that were recently formed.

1. GOT The Beat

Got the Beat is a K-pop girl band formed in 2022 under SM Entertainment. It is Girls On Top's first sub-unit. The members of the group are Karina, BoA, Hyoyeon, Taeyeon, Wendy, Winter, and Seulgi. The band's members are part of the company's recording artists lineup. The band made its debut on January 3, 2022, with the release of the single "Step Back."

 

2. Kep1er

Kep1er is a K-pop girl band formed under Wake One Entertainment and Swing Entertainment. It was created because of the Mnet reality show Girls Planet 999 in 2021. The members of the group are Hikaru Ezaki, Kim Chae-Hyun, Choi Yu-jin, Kim Da-Yeon, Seo Young-Eun, Kang Ye-see, Mashiro Sakamoto, Shen Xiaoting, and Huening Bahiyyih. The group made its debut with the EP(extended play) First Impact on January 3, 2022.

 

3. Vivaz

Vivaz is a K-pop girl band formed under BPM Entertainment. The members of the group are SinB, Umji, and Eunha. The group made its debut with the EP(extended play) Beam of Prism on February 9, 2022. All three of them were previously members of the group GFriend. After a week from their debut, they won their first ever music show award "MBC M's Show Champion" on February 16.

 

4. Nmixx 

Nmixx is a K-pop girl band formed under SQU4D, part of JYP Entertainment. The members of the group are Jinni Lily, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, Kyujin, and Haewon. The group made its debut with the single album "Ad Mare" on February 22, 2022. The band was previously known as JYPn. The band's second album "Entwurf" was released on September 19.

 

5. Le Sserafim 

Le Sserafim is a K-pop girl band formed under Hybe Corporation and Source Music. The members of the group are Kazuha, Sakura, Kim, Huh Yun-jin, Hong Eun-Chae, and Chae-won. Kim Ga-ram was later removed on termination of her contract from the group on July 20, 2022. The band made its debut with the release of the EP(extended play) Fearless on May 2, 2022.

 

6. Classy 

Classy is a K-pop girl band formed under Universal Music Japan and M25, part of MBK Entertainment. The group was formed through the MBC reality show My Teenage Girl. The members of the group are Hong Hye-Ju, Won Ji-min, Kim Seon-you, Kim Ri-won, Park Bo-Eun, Yoon Chae-won, and Myung Hyung-Seo. The group made its debut with the EP (extended play) Class Is Over on May 5, 2022.

 

7. H1-Key 

H1-Key is a K-pop girl band formed under Sony Music Entertainment Korea and Grandline Group. The members of the group are Hwiseo, Seoi, Yel, and Riina. Hwiseo became a member instead of a former member, Sitala, on June 14, 2022. The group made its debut on January 5, 2022, with the release of the single album, Athletic Girl.

 

8. ILY:1

ILY:1 is a girl band formed under FC ENM. The members of the group are Ririka, Hana, Ara, Rona, Elva, and Nayu. The band made its debut with the album Love in Bloom on April 4, 2022. The band released their second album Que Sera Sera on July 19, 2022. All the members of ILY:1 were already active in the entertainment industry.

 

9. Lapillus 

Lapillus is a girl band formed under MLD Entertainment. The members of the group are Yue, Chanty, Shana, Bessie, Haeun, and Seowon. The band made its debut with the release of the album Hit Ya! on June 20, 2022. They released their first EP(extended play) Girl's Round Part.1 on September 22, 2022. The group's first performance was released on Mnet's M Countdown on June 23, 2022.

10. Momoland 

Momoland is a girl band formed under MLD Entertainment. It was formed because of the 2016 TV show Finding Momoland. The current members of the group are Nancy Ahin, Jane, JooE, Nayun, and Hyebin. The group made its debut with the release of the album Welcome to Momoland on November 10, 2016. They released their first EP(extended play) Welcome to Momoland on November 10, 2016.
