Drama Digest

“7 seeds season 2” is a sequel to the Japanese anime series “7 seeds.” It is originally a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yumi Tamura. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future. It shows the aftermath of when a meteorite hit the earth and a species developed. It shows the struggles of five young adults who have revived from cryonic preservation. The title has its roots in the cryonic chambers along with supplies which were called “seeds,” laid by the Japanese government, where the five individuals were stored.

The Feel-Good Part

Fans have several complained about the conclusion of the first season, but the second season did not disappoint them. The second season expanded on ideas and showed some much-needed character development. The lead characters had much more screen time to show their character development. The character’s pasts were focused more in this season and some of the unsolved cases were also answered. Logically, this is not season two but part two of season one, which makes the season one story complete and adds meaning to it.

The Disappointing Factor

While many fans were impressed by the improved storyline of the show, many have complained about the pacing and the plot development is slow. The art and animation were not up to the mark and seemed clunky.

In-Depth Analysis

The storyline of the show “7 seeds” tells us about the method through which the young and healthy humans in the world were preserved by using the cryopreservation technique in chambers known as “7 seeds.” The young people selected in the “7 seeds” plan live a harsh life in the changed world after exposure to a harsh environment. Season 2 of “7 seeds” will explore the Fuji ship and the dangers associated with it. The story of “7 seeds” aims to prevent human extinction after the meteorite disaster. The ship was the last unidentified shelter, which could flip underwater vertically and still stay afloat. But they face a situation where they are stuck inside the ship and cannot get out.

Star Power

The lead characters, voiced by Nao Toyama, Jun Fukuyama, Katsuyuki Konishi, Yoko Soumi, Kana Asumi, Akira Ishida, Aoi Yuki, and Kazuhiko Inoue, delivered an outstanding performance. All the characters are likable and undergo significant growth throughout the series.

Overall Opinion

Overall, it is an excellent anime series based on an apocalyptic period. The storyline is indeed unique from a deal of existing anime and also provides a base for many knowledgeable facts. It is worth the watch, mainly if you enjoyed the first season. This season will open many unknown facts from season one that was left unresolved.
