TV Show Digest

Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan are the two hosts of the show. In each episode, the two hosts go head to head with celebrity guests in a cooking showoff. The recipe the two teams have to prepare is given to them by the guests’ mothers. The dish prepared by the competitors is then judged by the mother who has given the recipe, who then decides a winner.

The Feel Good Part

The show is not a standard cooking show. It doesn’t follow the typical, ‘follow along with me as I cook this dish’ pattern that most shows do. Instead, we have the hosts interacting with the guests on the show and their mothers, an interview of sorts, which gives the show an organic feeling. When cooking, the show still follows the pleasant nature of jokes and fun. The interactions with the guests and their mothers are like a very candid interview, with the guests talking about their childhood memories and upbringing.

The Disappointing Part

The editing of the episodes in this show is overboard. The flashy texts and over-the-top sound effects, steal the spotlight from the people in the frame and form a distraction. It would be more suitable for a younger audience; however, it has been advertised as a show that can be watched by an entire family.

In-Depth Analysis

Although the show follows the same pattern in all the episodes, it still manages not to be repetitive because the guests on the show keep changing. The two hosts are also an entertaining duo and do an excellent job at keeping their jokes fresh and funny.

Ad plugs are present in almost every episode, but they do a decent job of making it seem as natural as possible.

Star Power

The show has a decorated cast with Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan hosting the show. The guests on the show include Pod Suphakorn, Khaotung Thanawat, Puimek Napasorn, and others. The fact that the hosts already know the guests in the show or have some connection with them helps the conversations with them be more natural and fun. When they speak, it is like watching a couple of friends talk to each other, making it seem less like an interview.

Overall Opinion

The show is a good watch, and if the childish editing were to be ignored, it would be a definite watch with one’s family. The hosts are proficient in what they do, which is evident during the show. Involving the mothers of the guests who come on the show and using their recipes is undoubtedly a new and welcome concept. It helps us see the celebrities in a different light as they recount memories and stories from their childhood. On the face of it, the competition appears to be an essential part of the show. In reality, though, it isn’t, which is not a dreadful thing. It is satisfactory as it is, as the show also adopts characteristics of traditional talk shows, making the conversations the selling point.
