Saran was forging his own path by opening the city’s most popular restaurant despite being the heir of a successful family business. Saran is in need of a chef and Busaba’s skills fit the bill. As she felt like she was getting her life back together, she realised there was a new pressing issue at bay. She had fallen for her new boss who may not reciprocate her feelings. Does she risk it all and act on her feelings or does she keep her newfound balance?

The series is an adaptation of a Korean Drama called My Lovely Sun.

The Feel-Good Part

The romantic series that operates with the background of food makes for a comforting watch. The show is quite funny through its dialogue and slapstick situations. The show also touches upon the prejudices against older women and beauty standards in Asian societies. The characters are well-written, which makes the show quite intriguing to watch as different layers of their personalities surface as the show progresses. The character development is incredible as there are small changes that are made to indicate growth while still staying true to the core of the character. One such plotline that was done well was Busaba’s transformation as it was done in small ways that reflect inner beauty instead of outer beauty. The chemistry between the characters is great, which is guaranteed to keep the audience interested in the plot of the drama. The side characters add more flavour the show as they help relieve tension and serve as comedic relief without creating misunderstandings.

The Disappointing Factor

There are too many people that keep the main couple apart to the point where it feels almost unnecessary, which could be frustrating to watch as the conflict doesn’t feel interesting enough. Bussaba doesn’t have much ambition in life, which doesn’t make a lot of sense considering she was trained by the most prominent chefs and was the top student in culinary school.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama is uses all its elements and themes well to give the audience a well-executed end product that doesn’t disappoint in the least. The use of food along with romance is a good mix to give viewers some escapism.

Star Power

All the performances were great. The individual journeys of the characters were well articulated, thus doing justice to the development in the show. The actors had good chemistry together, which shined through the screen.

Overall Opinion
