Despite being orphaned at a young age, Xu Qing Jia worked hard in school and excelled in his field. He marries Hu Jiao, a butcher’s family descendant. Despite not being able to read or write, Hu Jiao has an optimistic outlook on life and manages to keep everything in order. As a county magistrate, Xu Qing Jia committed himself to improving the lives of the populace. As they cooperate in love, marriage, and aiding the populace to take down dishonest authorities, their story in the Northern Song Dynasty comes to life.
The Feel Good Part
The drama did a good job of fusing political intrigues in the palace and courts with romantic and “slice of life” moments starring the many characters. A historical drama with unconventional elements, such as the main couple’s gender roles being reversed. In this show, the female lead is strong and unpolished like a diamond in the rough, whereas the male lead is portrayed as a stereotypically weaker and gentler part. Also, this drama slowly reveals the struggles and daily lives of a group of small business owners and government employees. There are colourful, frequently comedic characters with the most cheesy familial and romantic rival cliches. The romances progress at a realistic pace and have a genuine, earthy appeal.
The Disappointing Factor
No one character is especially brilliant, perfect, or the story’s primary driver in this drama’s surrounding plot, which revolves around yet another age-old corruption issue involving the preceding generation. They all have assets and limitations that cause them to occasionally succeed and occasionally fall short. The plot and storyline are rather predictable. This Drama might be relaxing or boring because there aren’t many twists and turns. The drama’s first two-thirds have a decent pace, but the latter third drags a little.
In-Depth Analysis
This 39-episode drama series is directed by Mao Kun Yu and written by Cao Xiao Tian, and it is based on Lan Ai Cao’s novel The Little Lady of the Butcher’s House. The main cast of the 45-minute episodes of the drama includes Tong Meng Shi and Baby Zhang, or Zhang Han Yun. Even though “The Lady in the Butcher’s House” isn’t a masterpiece, there are humorous parts throughout the play. You can’t take this drama too seriously if you want to genuinely appreciate it. Additionally, the first few episodes of our FL can come across as crude and brutal. She did indeed strike her spouse, as many people have said. We would report the incident to the police and accuse her husband of striking her if the roles were reversed. If you can get through this, you’ll be rewarded with a touching and humorous drama where you can see how this couple supports and complements one another through good times and bad.
Star Power
Strong and Passionate female lead with a progressive and open mind. After Marriage love story.
Overall Opinion
