The Feel-Good Part
There is some excellent mass appeal to Gun Attaphan Phunsawat. Whether it’s his energy or his videos or how he edits, there is so much greatness to his character. His interactions seem genuine and don’t seem obnoxious, there is a lot that young children can look up to when watching his videos. Gun, essentially, is the best part of this series. There is so much he shows us and so much chaos around his life that it’s fun as viewers to watch it. Because a lot of these episodes are shot in a vlog style it does feel a lot more grounded and real as compared to other reality TV shows. You can relate to a lot and empathize with all the things that Gun goes through. The special does a great job at giving the fans what they want and providing them with never-before scenes that are just extremely fun to watch and deliver a more holistic view of his life and his daily activities.
The Disappointing Factor
For the most part, this show is nothing more than just a youtube vlog. There are moments where scenes feel manufactured and unnatural and there are moments that feel quite childish. The appeal of this show is definitely for a younger demographic, hence to a general audience it might feel a bit immature and pointless. There is a lot you can learn from Gun but because of the format of his show, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The vlog format is also subjective, sometimes the camera movement can feel a bit disorienting and rough and at other times the editing aims to add some comedy but is unable to do it. Perhaps the biggest issue of this show is the fact that as a special it does not give its audience something more, it feels very one dimensional and footage from original vlogs that were left on the cutting room floor. However, if you are a fan of Gun Attaphan Phunsawat you will find something or the other to enjoy about this show.
