Drama Digest

The classic 2005 variety show has finally been rebooted and is better than ever. The wholesome and amazing show returns. In this show, children use and enhance their skills as soccer beginners as they try to become perfect to be the best soccer players ever. The show is heartwarming about a group of boys trained to be the best of the best while making friends as they grow. The exhibition travels across the country to find these boys who make up a fresh and new FC Shootdori. What will the boys learn along the way? How will they improve? And how much will they grow towards the end of the show? Watch the show and find out.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is surprisingly wholesome. It has lasted for several seasons, otherwise known as leagues. New Beginnings is part of the show’s 7th league. And even after all this time, the formula and the way the show carries out are heartwarming, cute, and perfect for a nice watch. The premise simply follows a bunch of kids with big dreams getting the opportunity to share their skills and grow to be the best that they can be. There’s nothing more impressive than that. Each mentor and training program in the show end up helping the kids and allowing them to grow remarkably, not just as soccer players but also as people. The coaches and mentors help the kids grow, and watching will bring a tear to your eye.

The Disappointing Factor

There is nothing particularly disappointing about the show, except maybe the low-stakes nature of it. It’s a show about a bunch of children playing football. There’s not much to it. Because the show is centered around children, you can necessarily put them under so much stress and put so much on the line. But even so, it’s a show about children playing soccer, and maybe it’s meant to appeal to a younger, more family-friendly audience. But aside from the premise, there is not much to it.

In-Depth Analysis

The show is an uplifting one. It’s meant to put a smile on its viewers’ faces and uplift the spirits of any children watching who wish to become pros in the sport. It also gives children an opportunity to live out their wildest dream. What makes the show even more interesting is the background surrounding it. The show was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. For the time being, the show broadcasted reruns and memorable episodes of the original show. There might be some nostalgia attached to this show but for the most part, what makes it so unique is its light-hearted and warm nature.

Star Power

Thr two hosts of the show are Kim Jong Kook and Yang Se Chan. Kim Jong Kook is a singer, and actor who has started in shows such as Running Man, My Little Old Boy, X-Man, Good  Sunday, and many more. Yang Se-Chan is a comedian and singer who has starred in a variety of shows such as Comedy Big League, Change Days, Outrun by Running Man, Love Me Actually, and more. A regular member on the show is actor Lee Byung Jin. Throughout the show, several guests help the kids as mentors and coaches. These guests include Lee Dong Gook, a South Korean former professional soccer player who played at two FIFA World Cups and two AFC Asian Cups; Park Joo Ho, a South Korean football player for Suwon FC; Kim So Hye, a singer and actress who has starred in movies and TV shows; Kim Jae Hwan, a singer-songwriter who finished fourth in Produce 101; Alberto Mondi, a former Italian football player and television personality who stars in shows such as Ristorante Coreano, Where is my Friend’s Home, and many more; and Ahn Jung Hwan, a former South Korean football player, and television personality.

Overall Opinion

You should definitely check this show out for a heartwarming, cute time. It has a great cast of mentors and hosts who genuinely care about the children, and it is wholesome to see.
