Korean cuisine serves as the theme for each episode. Then, guests will prepare their meals, which they will do to the cast in the chosen sequence. If the cast member enjoys the food, a golden axe is displayed, and the next person may eat it. A toad is displayed, and the dish is withdrawn if the cast member doesn’t like it, stopping the next person from trying it. An 11.25gram pure gold axe will be given to the guest if the cast fully approves of the food.
The Feel-Good Part
This reality TV show enables people from all over the world to gain insight into Korean cuisines and their traditional way of cooking. People, in reality, are encouraged to experiment the food making it better and unique in taste. Every episode is visibly different from others having diverse cuisines involved with the comedy.
The Disappointing Factor
The show lacked the variety and the essential element that the viewers were hoping for and thereby getting poor viewer ratings. The reality show, which is based on only Korean culture, has restricted other people who are from various backgrounds with different traditions from watching it. The show was not able to catch the audience’s attention enough.
In-Depth Analysis
The South Korean production studio Mystic Story revealed a brand-new pilot titled Crazy Noodle Recipe on August 21, 2020. MBC is showing a Yoo Woon-hyuk-directed production. Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Seo Jang-hoon, and Sung Si-Kyung were on the program. The program hosts approached folks who claimed to have a special ramen recipe, watching them prepare it, then eating it and evaluating it. The winner receives US$1000 to aid them improve their recipe further if the entire cast agrees that the food is delicious. MBC aired the program in two parts as a Chuseok special on September 29 and 30, and fans seemed to enjoy it. MBC confirmed on December 28, 2020, that the show had been approved for regular broadcasting but would undergo a format change. The show’s name was changed to Crazy Recipe Adventure. A Cooking competition with a different cuisine theme for each episode replaced the previous model. On January 15, 2021, the first episode aired. The show is suitable for all age groups, but due to poor viewer ratings, the show was terminated by MBC in May 2021.
Star Power
The stars Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Seo Jang-hoon, and Sung Si-Kyung have done an excellent job in carrying the show with the addition of comedy too. All the cast have done their roles in a neatly and cleanly manner, thereby making the show a good one to watch.
Overall Opinion
The show started with good support by the viewers as it was well balanced from all the actors. In the later months, it has tipped off, making it not so worthwhile to watch.
