The famous horror franchise ‘Whispering Corridor’ is back with Min Young Lee’s ghost story The Humming. The Humming is the sixth part of this well-known franchise. The story starts with a scary scene with a hanging dead body of a school girl in a toilet room. Then the scene changes to a fresh new story where we see Eun-He. Eun-He came to her old school to be the vice-principal, but she also took the position of a student guidance counselor, and there she met a school girl named Ha-Young. Ha-young came to know about the abandoned toilet room of the school where a girl killed herself. Some strange disturbing things also started to happen with Eun-He.
On the other hand, with the help of Ha-Young, Eun-He came to know about a lot of scandalous things happening in school, centered around one of the faculty members, Mr. Park, about him, sexually assaulting the students. Some of the dark secrets of Eun-He’s past also get revealed and that leads her to do some horrifying things. What are those secrets? And What did Eun-He do finally? There are a lot of questions to find. All you can find out in this mysterious horror drama.
The Feel-Good Part
The feel-good part of this drama is its dark and scary horror scenes. The background music also sets the dark mood and makes it even better. The director wrote the storyline in a very tragic way. The USP of this story is it is not just a scary movie, but it’s a story about our society where women are the victims of abuse. The director intelligently added the psychological and scientific explanation behind the protagonist’s traumatic experiences that would make you feel for the characters.
The Disappointing Factor
It’s a unique and good horror drama, but it’s not flawless. Some editorial things are not commendable. The poor editing and the gaps between the plots would not be able to make the audience hooked up with it. There are also some of the performances that could have been better.
