Movie Digest
This story revolves around Guan Dawei who has spent his childhood in a village in a city. After receiving his higher studies he decides to explore big cities. He worked hard in making a living in those big cities and was successful as well. But by the end, he realizes his love for ordinary life and returns to his hometown. He shifts back to his hometown and decides to live a simple life by collecting rent. He wants to get close to his childhood girlfriend Tang Ziran but she has now become a flight attendant in a prestigious airline, because of her beauty. After she becomes a flight attendant she becomes almost unapproachable to Guan and the distance between them seems to increase with every step that he takes to decrease it. But time has different plans for Guan as his efforts are going to become a nightmare when he learns about the plane crash of Tang Ziran.
The Feel-Good Part
The bond and connection shared by the two main leads shown in the movie are like ice on the burns. One cannot deny the bond and emotions shown between the two protagonists bring back the sights of first love. When Guan discovers about the accident she is traumatized it shows how much he has loved her. There is a fine blend of comic scenes between the two friends and the much-needed seriousness a thriller requires.
The Disappointing Part
The disappointing factor can be the time laps which felt quite unnatural with the narrative of the movie. Things were fast-paced towards the end and too slow in the beginning. Even the laps of time and flashbacks seem a bit unsynchronized.
In-Depth Analysis
This movie portrays the procrastination of human beings. How they leave things for tomorrow and when tomorrow comes they leave things again for tomorrow. This keeps continuing and on till it is too late. In this movie even though Guan is given a second chance he has to make the most of it. He realizes his mistake of not coming to his loved ones before and expressing his love for them. He finds it difficult to accept the hard reality when he learns of the plane crash. This movie deals with emotions that we don’t accept in reality until it is too late.
Star Power
Wang Ning is the star that shines in the movie. His raw emotions bring energy to the movie which is much needed for the movie to move on. His performance is undeniably amazing from the beginning when h plays an average-looking guy and then when he becomes a heartbroken lover.
Overall Opinion
The movie is commendable in portraying its scenes and major themes. People should love their loved ones and express love for them whenever they can and this is what is most predominant in the movie. The time gives Guan a second chance to make amendments it’s up to him whether he wants to make the most of it or not. He can become a savior or make the same mistake all over again. The movie is definitely worth a watch, the viewers are not going to complain about this.
