“Love story in London” is a romantic Chinese drama directed by Janet Chun. The story is based on a novel by Lv Yige. It is the story of a few elite students who went to study abroad and experience many good and bad days. Throughout the experience, to discover inspirational and pure love.
The Feel-Good Part
Since the film had a high budget, the cinematography is good, and they filmed it abroad. Besides that, the film has mostly disappointed viewers and is a meaningless creation.
The Disappointing Factor
Despite having a big budget for the film, the producers failed to provide an interesting story. To make it a story, they introduced a sudden incident without cause to fit into the movie. The conclusion was an emotional one, but it had no actual cause or explanation of how the tragedy happened. As the title goes, there is no message to convey through the movie. The story writing seems to struggle and with no idea how to continue the story.
In-Depth Analysis
The film shows a group of young high school students who went to study abroad. They gain many experiences there and make some warm and tearful memories. Even after they finished studying abroad, they find each other’s life intersecting.
Star Power
Many viewers might get attracted to the movie because of Song Wei Long. But he did terrible acting in this movie. Zhang Zi Feng’s character is uninteresting, although her acting was mediocre. Jiang Chao’s acting is also unimpressive. Considering the age differences, it was a poor decision to cast Jiang Chao alongside Zhang Zi Feng and Song Wei Long. The romantic chemistry shown between them did not fit in.
Overall Opinion
Overall, it is a worthless movie and a waste of time. It doesn’t have any moral elements or proper plot to show. Besides that, the caste is even more disappointing. The title “Passage of My Youth” for the movie might sound deceiving, but it has nothing to offer in reality.
