Drama Digest
The story talks about two young schoolboys, Kong and Film. Kong is a confident young guy who has been studying at the school since 7th grade and is currently studying in Grade 10 Room 9. Film is depicted as a meek guy at first, who is just transferred to his school to Grade 10 Room 2. The story commences from Kong’s point of view. They know each other but confront for the first time at the cafeteria, when Film takes Kong’s place at the cafeteria table. He seems to dislike it and pretends to convey his dissatisfaction by pretending to be on a call. We can sense an air of unfriendliness at the beginning. The rest of the story tells how this confrontation goes between them.
The Feel-Good Part
This light-hearted movie is quite simple and cuts to the chase, with no dramatic plot twists. The duo’s on-screen charm and charisma keeps us glued to the screen. The number of constant glares and smirks they exchange tell us beforehand how the leads feel about each other. Minimum language is used; their acting and body language do most of the talking. Although the story kicks off from Kong’s perspective, we get an inkling of Film’s feelings from some of the shots. Screenplay and execution are carried out beautifully.
The Disappointing Factor
The only disappointing factor is the duration, which would leave you wanting more. One would feel the show ended too soon. But the team has come up with its sequel (Just Found Love) to satiate our needs. Another sequel to this is also being anticipated.
In-depth Analysis
The story sheds awareness and light on two teenagers’ feelings, just like any heterosexual couple, and how they approach each other. A perfect portrayal of LGBTQ+ community couples is seen. Film comes out as a submissive character, but if we closely look into his character, all his actions are well curated to gain Kong’s attention. Kong comes out as confident as first, but little advances from Film make his heart flutter. They seem to know about each other, but they act as strangers at first. One could anticipate the outcome of their meetings until it is confirmed at the end. This refreshingly different take on this well-known subject makes it a good watch. A significant emphasis on acting is evident as their acting backs up their feelings more than words.
Star Power
Rossi Nonthakorn as Kong and Non Ratchanon Kanpiang as Film are incredible. Rossi has also taken up the role of a 10th Grader in The Gifted: Graduation. Ratchanon is currently seen in Moments of Love as donning the lead role.
Overall Opinion
Just seventeen minutes of this gay couple’s on-screen time would have us yearning to see a series with these leads. The way the story unfolds is quite gripping and anyone’s heart would skip a beat seeing them together. Overall, a refreshing must-watch if one likes school romance or is inclined towards LGBTQ+ representations.
