Drama Digest

Love Stage is adapted from Eiki Eiki’s manga, written and illustrated by Zao Taishi. Anda was born into one of Thailand’s most well-known showbiz families, but while the world waits for his big break as a new star, all he wants to do now is become a renowned manga artist and live out his otaku ambitions! Despite having spent his entire life surrounded by fame, a traumatic experience in a commercial ten years ago drove him into emotional isolation and eventually into the arms of his favorite fictitious character, Magical Girl LalaLulu.

The Feel-Good Part

A charming and amusing story to brighten your day! If you prefer BL romcoms and aren’t searching for something serious or deep, you’ll probably enjoy this program. It’s funny, pleasant, and engaging, with a unique premise. In addition, the leads’ connections with their families, friends, and managers are endearing. Lots of love and support, which is heartwarming to see. The colors and aesthetic are also really amazing, emphasizing the color pink! Last but not least, the chemistry between the characters in this show is unrivaled.

The Disappointing Factor

It doesn’t have a particularly compelling plot or a ground-breaking plot. Because they drifted so far from the original story, practically all plot lines were abandoned just so we could have people crying in Ep 9, the writing is terrible and travels all over the place. The dramatic tension builds up to acute homophobia (a true disappointment) and everyone huddles in tears to a montage of pleasant times together and a sappy ballad. The series suffers from a deadly case of Penultimate Episode Syndrome in this episode. It’s out of character for the story’s tone. Nothing could work since the tone is so crazy.

In-Depth Analysis

Anda was born into one of Thailand’s most well-known entertainment families, but as the rest of the world waits for his big break as a new star, all he wants to do is become a renowned manga artist and live out his otaku fantasies! Despite having spent his entire life surrounded by celebrities, a traumatic experience on a commercial set ten years ago drove him into emotional isolation and eventually into the arms of his favorite imaginary character, Magical Girl LalaLulu. Even though he has no intention of becoming a manga artist of any kind, he participates in filming the sequel to that dreadful commercial from his past. Furthermore, his previous co-star, who has also been requested to repeat his role, is none other than the well-known actor Ryo. Anda does not want to put on a dress again, but Ryo is thrilled to see the lovely “girl” who has stolen his heart for the past ten years.

Star Power

The relationships between the leads and their families, friends, and managers are charming. There is a lot of love and support, which is wonderful to witness. The colors and look are also fantastic, with a strong emphasis on pink! Last but not least, the chemistry between the characters is unparalleled in this show.

Overall Opinion

It’s comedic, it’s childish, and it flirts with serious dramedy at points, but it’s mostly a light and fluffy entertainment.
