Drama Digest
Nevertheless tells the story of two art students, Han So-hee as Yoo Na-bi and Song Kang as Park Jae-eon. They are clueless about their lives, their future, preferences in love and relationships. Skeptical about commitment in relationships, they face many problems in the beginning and middle of their relationship. The show revolves around the lives of these two characters and their friends as well.

Nevertheless is a rollercoaster ride when it comes to its portrayal of real-life relationships. The uncertainty in their relationship is what gives this show a touch of how real-life relationships are in actuality.
The Disappointing Factor
What’s worse than the moment when the main lead’s heart is broken? Heartbreak of the second lead. The repetitive nature of K-dramas in terms of portraying the second leads is what makes them unrealistic and unbearable to watch, sometimes. Nevertheless committed this mistake as well. Not giving proper closure to the second lead Yang Do-hyeok, played by Chae Jong-hyeop is the only downside of this show.
In-Depth Analysis
What makes Nevertheless different from other romantic K-dramas is the lack of fairytale-like projection of relationships that takes place in almost all rom-com K dramas. The show also gives a lot of importance to the representation of some profound communities like the LGBTQ, which is still taboo in the Korean drama industry and Korean society. The same-sex couple, Yoon Sol and Seo Ji-wan, played by Lee Ho-Jung and Im Soon-woo, respectively are an example of how K-dramas these days are changing their perspective towards same-sex relationships. In short, the show is very progressive and relatable for most college students.There s even love triangle also involved.
Star Power
The leads Han So-hee and Song Kang play their roles beautifully leaving no room for any bad reviews regarding their acting, dialogue delivery, chemistry etc. The show’s second lead Chae Jong Hyeop who runs a successful YouTube channel along with a restaurant that is his grandfather’s and family legacy also gives a clear-cut competition to the character of Song Kang. The other supporting actors such as Yang Hye-Ji, Kim Min-gwi, Lee Ho-Jung & Im Seon-woo also play their roles with utmost bliss and are a delight to watch.
