Drama Digest
A tale about the bloody fight for the Joseon crown. In the country, Choi Chun Joong (Park Si Hoo) is the top face reader. He came from a wealthy family, but they were all slaughtered. Although he is despised as a fortune teller, he eventually rises to become the most influential person in Joseon. He seeks to alter Joseon’s destiny since he is aware of it. He also devotes his entire life to the woman he adores. The stunning princess Lee Bong Ryeon (Go Sung Hee) is the offspring of King Cheoljong. She possesses a unique talent for predicting people’s futures. She struggles with the blessing and burden of her talent. When Lee Bong Ryeon meets Choi Chun Joong, he seeks to improve Joseon’s future.
The Feel-Good Part
The first few episodes of the series go along rather quickly, giving you a chance to see our two characters when they were young. It was enjoyable and made you feel youthful at heart. There is no ambiguity about whether they are evil or nice because their personality and character were made clear at the beginning. It’s obvious. You will benefit much from political intrigue and, yes, a dash of romance.
The Disappointing Factor
You don’t get to witness the actual chemistry between our protagonists, despite the fact that they worked effectively together on screen. You are aware that they are in love with each other, yet you cannot sense it. Disappointingly, there are gaps and a lack of clarity. There were so many things omitted. Time skips and fast forwards, like three years later or one year later, were used throughout the show. After a time, everything became a little bit hazy. A character develops a sudden attraction that is simply bizarre. Since the female lead’s identity was made clear, it was tough to comprehend why she lived where she did and why these individuals were entrusted to take care of her. These things made no sense at all.
In-Depth Analysis
Choi Chun Joong (Park Shi Hoo) is Korea’s top face reader and fortuneteller during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910). He is also a great gambler and martial artist. He is a strong patriot who is well-liked by the populace of the realm. But when he decides to overthrow the corrupt government in charge of the nation in an effort to install a morally upright young prince from a distant royal family in their place, he now confronts his greatest battle yet. He feels that the prince would be the best heir to the Joseon throne. He also names a lowly street lady as the perfect royal mate for the country. Choi Chun Joong must employ all of his skills to assist the pair in seizing control, but he is helped in this endeavor by a princess by the name of Hwang Bong Ryun (Go Sung Hee), who also possesses extraordinary fortune-telling powers. As the pair moves forward with the bold plan, they start to fall for one another. The novel “Wind and Clouds and Rain” by author Lee Byung Ju, which was serialized in a major newspaper between 1977 and 1987, served as the inspiration for this drama series. This 2020 South Korean drama series “King Maker: The Change of Destiny” will be helmed by Yoon Sang Ho and adapted for the big screen by Bang Ji Young.

The stars try to do their best but fail to do so because of the lack of chemistry the show entails.
Overall Opinion
This drama might only be interesting for those interested in face reading, horoscopes, and fortune-telling. If not, it should be skipped blindly.
