Alive – Gan Senmoni No Karte is a Japanese drama that portrays the life of a female oncologist named Ondo Kokoro. Her colleagues call her Dr. Onkoro for short and often tease her that she was born on this path. She is married to Takumi, whom she had known since her school days, and has a son. She led a pleasant and peaceful life until her husband had an accident and went into an unresponsive state though he had undergone emergency surgery. She conceals all her sufferings and pain behind a smile at the workplace though it has gotten hard for her to endure. Then she meets a gastroenterologist Kajiyama Kaoru who lights up her world with her cheerful nature and provides considerable emotional support and, helps her in her personal and professional life. She comforts her by being heather to her. She becomes Kokoro’s loving friend, with who she can always rely upon. Will Kokoro’s husband gain consciousness? The Feel-Good Part

The friendship between Kokoro and Kajiyama is the best part of the show. Their bond is what everyone would crave; it is a pure friendship; both comforts each other and becomes each other’s confidant. Kajiyama provides a ray of light to Kokoro’s dull life.
