Drama Digest

Xiao Hao Feng, a young general, had been lonely since he was a child, after the death of his parents but he established his abilities as he spent those lonely nights practising. However, Xiao Hao Feng was murdered by the Bei Yue kingdom’s princess. As a result, Xiao Hao Feng became engaged in love conflicts and politics of suspense and deception.

The Feel Good Part

As much as I wanted to, it is hard to take the best parts out of a drama that has 5-minute-long episodes. The cinematography is historically set, and the costumes seem to be the better part of it all.

The Disappointing Part

The viewers may find it hard to concentrate on the series because apart from being just 35 minutes long in total, it is also breakneck pace and confusing. There are no subtitles available so viewers who do not know the Chinese language may skip it overall. It is difficult to pinpoint the bad about a series that has no concrete structure.

In-Depth Analysis

This drama is overall a historical romance, on the papers at least. It does focus on the romantic build-up between our FML and ML but only as much as could fit in 5 minutes long episodes. The lack of concrete plot and consistency makes it unbearable even.

Star Power

The cast of this show is fresher. Unless you are an individual fan of the cast, the cast alone would not be sufficient to make you watch this series.

Overall Opinion

The drama in its entirety is a miss. With a poor plot, lack of consistent script, and lack of a good cast, this drama is sitting on a throne of disappointments. The runtime of 35 minutes overall with 5 minutes per episode was the worst decision made for a historical drama of a content-handling romance. Viewers would not find this show watchable unless they are fans of the short series genre.
