The Feel-Good Part
The chemistry between Ju Xiang and Yosuke, and Yue Niang and Chen Xi was cute. The Ost was superb, and it can bring a person’s emotions out. The plot does not feel dull. The Baba and Nyonya culture are presented beautifully. The character development was correctly shown.
The Disappointing Factor
There are so many evil characters who are annoying at times. Some characters were easy to manipulate. The ending could have been better, than just wrapping up; some loose threads were left unsolved.

The story was great; it was complex and unpredictable. It makes you feel excited about what will happen next. It is a departure from typical Chinese dramas, which can make you feel bored. This drama gives you a new perspective. It is an exciting story based on the straits of Chinese living in Malacca, giving you insights into the customs and traditions practised by the group of people at that time when Malaysia and Singapore were British colonies. The strait Chinese were the people who settled in South East Asia and adopted the local culture. They have developed their distinct Nyonya cuisines. The ladies were called Nyonya and men’s as babas. It is the remake of the Singaporean drama, the little nyonya.

The chosen actors portrayed their roles well. It has an impressive supporting cast, made-up of lively characters fleshed out with different personalities. The actors enriched the drama with their performances. The acting is top-notch delivered by a fantastic cast.

It is a brilliant drama that can be watched for entertainment. It is a nice series to see through. It is an incredible historical drama with memorable characters and a bright plot.
