Drama Digest

In a tiny shop named Time Photo Studio, two friends, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, provide an incredible service: jumping into photographs and granting wishes. Witnessing the events of the past through the photographer’s perspective, they try to figure out their course of action. However, every time they do this, they take a few risks, some sizing big. What happens when things get too personal?

The Feel-Good Part

Link Click is perhaps one of the best donghuas to come out in the last few years. With solid direction and a story that takes time travel seriously instead of a backdrop for other things, it is a highly binge-worthy series that keeps you hooked to the last minute. The opening theme is particularly incredible and immediately manages to draw you in, with the perfect soundtrack to pair it. The characters are incredibly compelling, and they keep you engrossed and even empathize with their dilemmas.

The Disappointing Factor

A few things are holding Link Click back from being absolutely perfect, and the animation is one of them. It does feel a tad bit too lacklustre if you are used to watching immaculately designed anime. The opening theme is so visually and sonically stunning that by the time you get to the ending theme, you do feel a little let down.

In-Depth Analysis

Link Click is quite the underrated stunner. One does not go in expecting much when seeing that a series has the generic time travel plotline, but Link Click manages to defy every doubt surrounding it. With a fantastic soundtrack and a well-written story, Link Click tugs at the strings inside your heart. You can sense the helplessness of the duo, their fear, and their awareness of the futility that accompanies their actions. The episodes are sombre and leave you with an overbearing feeling of doom.

The episodes build up over time, getting better and more engaging, and you are left at the edge of your seat multiple times. It does get slightly confusing if you are not paying attention, but that is its beauty. However, season 1 ends on a huge cliffhanger, and you will have to wait for the next one for all the answers to your questions.

Star Power

Animated by Studio Lan and Haoliners Animation League, Su Shangqing and Yang Tianxiang voice the central duo, who do a great job in their voice acting.

Overall Opinion

Link Click is a series that you need to watch attentively in order to grasp all the little details that make this a spectacular watch.
