Drama Digest

Like a Flowing River II continues the first season storylines by focusing on Song Yun Hui, Lei Dong Bao, and Yang Xun as they participate in  economic reform of China from the 1980s to the 1990s. The Xiao Lei family business continues to expand, but a little lapse in safety protocols leads to a catastrophic explosion at their copper foundry. On the other hand, Wei Chun Hong is constantly at his side, encouraging and supporting him. He begins to respect and feel affection for Liang Si Zhong while they are coworkers, all the while continuing to make false reports that are detrimental to the business.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama has some top-notch acting that is delivered by the actors. The story and the plot perfectly continue from where they left off in season one, and as a result, it makes for an interesting watch.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama might appear to be a bit stretched out, and, as a result, the viewers might be bored and just try to watch and complete it as soon as possible.

In-Depth Analysis

Like a Flowing River II continues the first season storylines by focusing on Song Yun Hui, Lei Dong Bao, and Yang Xun as they participate in  economic reform of China from the 1980s to the 1990s. The youngest deputy leader of Donghai Chemical is now Song Yun Hui. He relocates his family to Donghai, but Cheng Kai Yan apathy and mistrust strain their relationship and lead to their ultimate divorce. Song Yun Hui continues to assume leadership responsibilities and lead his team to success as they successfully finish project after project thanks to his inherent business skills. Sadly, others around Song Yun Hui are envious of his ascent up the corporate ladder. The Xiao Lei family business continues to expand, but a little lapse in safety protocols leads to a catastrophic explosion at their copper foundry. Lei Dong Bao received a prison term after being accused of bribery. After being freed, he launched his own enterprise as an electrical distributor. On the other hand, Wei Chun Hong is constantly at his side, encouraging and supporting him. Yang Xun, who came to Donghai in search of possibilities, succeeded in the contemporary markets. He begins to respect and feel affection for Liang Si Zhong while they are coworkers, all the while continuing to make false reports that are detrimental to the business. When the father of Yang Xun learns about this and steps in, the career of Yang Xun takes a severe hit. Yang Xun finds solace in a close friend as he experiences the lowest moment of his life.

Star Power

The main cast, which consists of Wang Kai as Song Yun Hui, Yang Shuo as Lei Dong Bao, Dong Zi Jian as Yang Xun, and Yang Cai Yu as Liang Si Shen, do a wonderful job, along with the other supporting roles, and deserve applause for retaining the character throughout the two seasons.

Overall Opinion

This drama is great for you to watch if you enjoyed watching the first season thoroughly and were hoping to see some more.
