Drama Digest

Go With The Float is a drama where Qing Gong conveys the pleasures, regrets, and delights of a group of filmmakers with enthusiasm and humor. The group reminisced about the old days and even regrouped to make a film based on a past completed script called Flying Skill.

The Feel-Good Part

The only character worth noting is the wonderful Rebecca Chu as this weird Joker. There were some touching moments, but they were scarce and stretched. The romance between the Brian Chu and Rebecca Chu characters was interesting but it wasn’t explored much.

The Disappointing Factor

Hung Sap Yat’s character is completely two-dimensional, and that hasn’t changed in 21 episodes, with the same pacing and story beat. Rebecca Chu’s past is the most interesting, but she’s barely touched on and wasted a big opportunity.

In-Depth Analysis

Go With The Float is a drama where Qing Gong conveys the pleasures, regrets, and delights of a group of filmmakers with enthusiasm and humor. Former stuntman Hung Sap-Yat meets his associates Chung Chi Wai, Phong Sam, Lee Sai Fung, and Ng Kam Ying. The organization reminisced the vintage days when tehy regrouped to make a movie primarily based on a finished script referred to as Flying Skill. They meet for the memorial service of Sap-Yat’s late wife Miao Miao. She was a famous actress of her time but retired to live a normal life after marriage. She had two children, and they started a family of their own. When Miao Miao suddenly learned that she was ill and had very little time to live. Her biggest wish is nothing less than “to be able to fly again”. Yi wanted to quit martial arts, but had mixed feelings when he gets a photo. Renewed in his resolution, he wants to fulfill his wife’s last wish: “Fly again!” The show doesn’t stick out in any specific aspect. It doesn’t explore any characters or story arcs, spending most of its time driving at moderate speed and pace, and not making a strong emotional connection with any of its characters. All in all, this isn’t a bad drama, but it’s also nothing special. It’s just average.

Star Power

The star power of the show is the actors who did their best to make the two-dimensional characters interesting. The script was slow-paced and basic. But the actors did a good job with their characters.
