The world of esports is competitive and male-dominated. The ZGDX OPL team is an all-male team, which is famous for its solid contenders and always winning streak. The female fans adore them. But when the team’s star player, Lu Si Cheng, gets injured, the team is startled and worried about finding a substitute for him. They decide to substitute him with Tong Yao, an amateur gamer with supreme skills, the only female member of the group, when the manager of the ZGDX OPL team learns about her skills. Lu Si Cheng was dismissive at first but then agreed. How revolutionary will this change be for the team?
The Feel-Good Part
Adapted from the web novel “You’re Beautiful When You Smile” by Qing Mei, this drama is with thirty-one episodes of around 45 min long, it is an elaborate drama that explains and explores every sector of the story. Being long makes it exciting to watch and accessible for viewers. The enchanting story of Lu Si Cheng finding a new kind of love with Tong Yao is very refreshing to watch. There are significant misunderstandings and problems between the two main characters, which root down to their life values. Love can be found again, and the healing from past and present pains has become easier ever since.
The Disappointing Factor
The ending of the story is rushed with no comfortable closure given to the series, mainly because of the short screen time of the show. The story’s theme is slightly triggering for viewers, as most viewers can’t see someone like the female lead struggle so much. The music is also disappointing and not prominent in the 45 min episode in all the thirty-one episodes. It is not worth watching again. The ending ruins the complete fun of watching the entire series. Some scenes are inappropriate and unnecessary.

The male and female lead has a different kind of relationship with each other. They need each other in such a framework, where the female lead feels sad and lonely as judged for being the only female member of the group made to play esports. The attitude they hold for each other after they meet is unique. They still respect each other but never expect to fall in love until they wish to seek revenge. It has a strong script. The series shows a different take on love, which is applaudable to watch.
Star Power
The male and female lead have different kinds of backgrounds. The female lead is strong, independent, and with a lot of pain and sadness, her pain pauses when she thrives in her life until she meets Lu Si Cheng while being his substitute for the group. Their shared interest in the sport that they play grew similarities which led to liking each other. Both of them are well-skilled in the game that they play and they know that they’re worthy of what they are. Both have their problems and issues, but they handle it well and focus on the game.
