Drama Digest:

It depicts the tale of a struggling artist who, despite being undiscovered for more than ten years, unexpectedly becomes famous overnight as a result of an old artwork from 18 years ago. After finding an old work of his, gallery owner Fang Zhi Hao and his wife Song Hui Qi decide to assist Yao Shang Qian achieve renown as a painter. Shang Qian, however, was unable to smile at all. For a brief moment of vanity, he abandoned his values. His previous flame Shen Yue rejoins him once more for financial gain. However, a murder occurs, and Zhuang Rui Ting, Shang Qian’s wife, is the unfortunate victim.

The Feel-Good Part:

Compared to the first version, Brutally Young 2.0 portrays a different tale. new cast members join Joel Chan and Shaun Tam from season 1 in the ensemble.

The Disappointing Factor:

When they gradually unveil the implicated guys, the drama loses its intrigue. It came to a rapid close once they located the eighth individual, which seemed pretty anticlimactic. Sam was a person who never lost his composure and intellect. Shaun therefore didn’t really express his feelings. It didn’t require a lot of acting talent, did it? The entire time, his voice was monotone. His expressions weren’t really expressive.

In-Depth Analysis:

Painter Yiu Sheung-him has had little success since beginning his career more than a decade ago until gallery owner Fong Chi-ho and his wife Sung Wai-kei come upon an old painting Sheung-him did 18 years ago. And the pair decides to assist him in achieving fame, but Sheung-him isn’t in the mood to be joyful. Sheung-him abandons his values, which he has been steadily upholding, in a moment of pride. Sheung-fame and money also condemn him to obscurity. Due to certain vested interests, Shum Yuet, who was once Sheung-favorite him’s disciple, rekindles their relationship. Then a mystery murder occurs, and shockingly, Sheung-wife him’s Chong Yui-ting is the unfortunate victim. As scenes of intrigue and deception take place, if it’s not one thing, it’s another.

Star Power:

Shaun Tam, Joel Chan, Katy Kung, Candice Chiu, Zoie Tam, Raymond Cho, and other actors appeared in this 20-episode drama. Despite having a less-than-stellar ensemble, everyone excelled in their assigned roles in this drama. They weren’t excellent actors or actresses in my opinion before. I’m forced to revise my opinion after viewing their performances in this series. Their jobs here give them the chance to demonstrate their varied acting styles.

Overall Opinion:

The storyline of the show moves along quickly, which is good, and it is full of nice suspense, secrets (yes, all characters have secrets from one another, especially from their partners), and surprises along the way.
