Drama Digest
The series is a thriller and revolves around detective Lu Xiao. He is intelligent and wise. Despite his young age, he has solved multiple cases and is now part of an elite force.
But, one of the cases has him puzzled. The case is of a floating dead body and the Water Ghost Killer. During the investigation, the killer escapes him several times. Xiao cannot comprehend the killer’s psyche even though Xiao has excellent observational skills.
He teams up with his mate Fan Yi Tong to crack the mystery. But as they get closer to the killer, Xiao loses the love of his life, his wife Jiang Ye Ran. The personal setback nearly forces him to give up the chase.
With the motivation from his mates, Xiao recovers and restarts the hunt for the killer.
Does he succeed, or does the killer escape him again forms the story in the series?
The Feel-Good Part
The performance of the male lead is excellent. The cinematography and the sound effects are also good.
The Disappointing Factor
The plot is feeble, and the editing could be better as it is not tight for a thriller. Also, the presence of some of the characters do make sense to the storyline.
In addition, there are some scenes are not required as it adds no value to the story.

What if there is one case that evades you, yet you give it your all? And, in the process, if you lose a person you love, then do you get yourself back or just give up?
The series is all about these questions and more. The story is about a super cop Lu Xiao, who is part of an elite group in the Haigang Police. He has exceptional observational skills and has solved several cases making him famous.
When there is a floating corpse, Xiao is introduced to the works of the Water Ghost Killer. This killer turns out to be his arch-nemesis. Regardless of Xiao’s superb skills, he cannot catch the killer. Every time the killer escapes, Xiao is stumped.
He and his friend Fan Yi Tong join forces to catch the Water Ghost Killer. During the process, he loses his one true love, his wife.
Xiao is in grief and cannot come to terms with his loss. He nearly gives up the chase, but with encouragement from his colleagues and friend, he picks himself up to catch the killer. The story is whether Xiao succeeds or not.
Star Power
The male lead of Lu Xiao, is played by Qin Jun Jie and is fabulous. The rest of the cast supports him well.
Overall Opinion
The series is still airing and has some shortfalls, but if you like thrillers and have time, it is a one-time watch.
