Drama Digest
Inspired by the adventurous stories of Niké, a witch who traveled all over the world, Elaina decides to follow the same for herself. Her determination and desire to study books and learn magic, led her to become the youngest apprentice to pass the sorcery exam successfully. However, she has turned away from the training of becoming a full-fledged witch owing to her extraordinary skill. Later she finds Fran, the Stardust Witch residing in the forest who trains her and turned her into a full-fledged witch. After earning the title of Ashen Witch, she begins her journey of exploring the world by visiting different types of places and encountering different kinds of people.
The Feel-Good Part
This series is built around a somewhat realistic approach. Excellent portrayal of the beautiful yet cruel world and the challenges encountered in this beautiful world. Almost every episode has a different story, each with an underlying message making it a refreshing and unique series.
The Disappointing Factor
This show has a couple of dark and depressing episodes, which sometimes makes it difficult for the viewers to watch. In addition, Elaina’s actions and thoughts sometimes make it hard to understand her character at times. Elaina encounters many horrific situations throughout her journey but chooses not to help the people caught in those situations. Her lack of empathy and selfishness makes her character despicable.
In-Depth Analysis
The series may seem like casual adventure series initially with Elaina embarking on a journey around the world, but it becomes darker as the story progresses. This series shows how harsh the world can sometimes be and it is not always as beautiful as it seems to be. Further, certain episodes could be depressing.
With each passing episode, the viewers will get to know more about Elaina. Despite her potential as a witch, she is not able to solve the problems of others. And therefore, certain episodes could be depressing.
The music and animation are superb. This is one of the most alluring amines.
Star Power
The greatest thing about this series is its characters. The voice acting of the show is relatively good and does not seem to be forced at any time.
Overall Opinion
This is quite a luminous and colorful series and has an unpredictable plot that will keep you on your toes until the very end of the series.
