Do you have what it takes to be part of the next biggest Thai girl group? This show watches a group of judges search for the members of a new girl group called 4EVE. The judges must choose between 20 trainees who have been carefully selected from over 1000 applicants with their over-special skills and characteristics. However, this show looks at more than just musical abilities and also how they perform and who they are. The girls release their debut song, Wt Snow, and must work together to perform it to the best of their abilities. They must also rap and dance to the track. The twenty selected girls must get to know each other better and bond with each other before entering their first broadcast taping on the given date of July 2013. Will the girls’ success break into the mainstream? What are the hurdles they will come across? Watch this show and see who makes it in the music industry and what it takes to be Thailandโs next big girl group.
The Feel-Good Part
There is a lot of heart that goes into this show. While it is essentially cut-throat it also has a sense of heart and the judges work to ensure the girls make the most of their experience no matter how far they get. It also presents a new perspective on the world of girl groups. It showcases girl group members as hardworking, striving for greatness, and wanting to make it in the musical world. It also showcases girl groups as something more than just music. There is a lot that goes into the establishment and success of girl groups and this show showcases all those aspects to a great degree. The hosts and judges also are an essential part of this drama and deliver some great advice and critiques to the girls to ensure that they go out into the world as better performers. Overall, the show is a great look at the success and outcomes of hard work. The growth from episode one to episode thirteen of this show is just phenomenal.
The Disappointing Factor
There are very few moments where the girls get to relax and express themselves. But that is just the standard of the girl group industry. While it is great to see the girls in their element and working hard towards perfecting their craft, aspects such as burnout and frustration are rarely ever expressed throughout the show. These important aspects need to be discussed as they are as essential as hard work and determination. It is very sad to see a crop of 1000 applicants be shaved down to 20 girls but as a reality TV show and a show that aims to create a cohesive girl group, that is expected.
