Movie Digest
The film is about a young con artist Tower who is caught by a goofy banker, Ina. Instead of turning him over, she asks him to con her ex-boyfriend who took a lot of her money and then refused to return it. Hilarity ensues when Tower’s brother and Ina’s school teacher join the team.
The Feel-Good Part
The movie is funny, interesting, and suspenseful. It has a unique plot. There is an interesting plot twist in the end. The con schemes are very enjoyable. The title track is sung by GOT7’s BamBam and is now a favorite of his fans. The cast has done a fantastic job portraying their characters. It is a heartfelt comedy where a con goes wrong for all the right reasons.
The Disappointing Factor
Some of the jokes are overused and unnecessarily repeated. It does not properly represent all the genres it claims to have.
In-Depth Analysis
The movie is Thai. The romance between the main leads feels sincere but is shown subtly. The comic relief in the movie is certainly Tower’s brother, whose antics will surely make you laugh out loud. There are two plots- the con, and Ina’s dilemma as she starts having feelings for Tower, another con artist. Ina’s naivety is surprising- having been conned once, she has no issues trusting another con artist. Sometimes the movie gets unexpectedly deep, like when Ina compares debt to marriage. While not being too preachy, it subtly delivers a strong message of trust and honesty.
Star Power
The film stars Nadech Kugimiya, Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul and Thiti Mahayotaruk. It is directed by Mez Tharatorn, who has also directed the movie I Fine…Thank You…Love You. The actors have been nominated for awards by the Thailand National Film Association.
Overall Opinion
The film is lighthearted, and interesting and is brought to life with a talented and attractive cast. It is funny and suspenseful in the right ratio. Fans of movies like Ocean’s 12 will certainly enjoy this movie. It is the type of movie you would like to watch after a long hard day of work.
