Drama Digest
The japanese drama starts off with Keito, who works as a reporter for a weekly magazine. She is rich, along with that she enjoys her work as well as her love life. The magazine Keito works for covers everything, may it be the corruption by politicians or entertainer’s scandals. She is always on alook out for the next big scoop.
One day, Keito’s mother suddenly faces death. Anna, who worked as a movie critic was also a single mother who raised Keito all on her own. Moments before her death, Anna mentions something about Keito’s father. The mentioned name by her is supposed to be that of a Hollywood star.
The Feel-Good Part
The courageness of Keito and her never giving up enery reflects through the scenes nicely. It’s refreshing to see her enthuastic yet fierce personality with everything going around and how she handles the situations in the best way she can. Odaka’s development by the end, not to forget of the weird character of Nonaka’s too, sends a sense of relief to the viewers. A little here and there moments of course take a part in the extension of the good part while watching the episodes.
The Disappointing Factor
A few more moments of the mother-daughter bond should have been added as the wholesome relationship of their’s was definitely one could look forward to even a few problems came across. The projection of the love factor could have been a little better since it’s supposed to be a romance series, the toxic and confusing states are present in relationships but a little toned down version would help make it less dramatic.
In-Depth Analysis
On the beginning of the story, it starts with an energetic Keito in a comfortable setting who loves doing what she does and is good at it. As it all unfolds, one by one all the parts of the backstory come in play to solve the mystery that stands today. In attempts to go to the root of the problem of the situation, Keito goes through a lot. Side by side she tries to handle her love life while trying to find the answers to the questions and finally tries to put an end to it all. Through her constant dedication, she does. With a relaxed ending she puts a last stop to it.
Star Power
The role of Makabe Keito in the story has been played by Yoshitaka Yuriko. Yuriko made the fictional character come alive beautifully. She did an extremely good job in balancing all the emotions and portrayed them realistically which makes the serie light up.
Overall Opinion
It’s a good series when looked from a broader perspective. If mystery with a hint of toxic love and twist and turns, as the main character makes it through all and becomes a better version of themselves is your play, then definitely this one is suitable.
