Drama Digest

Mano Hideko is a former judge who left Tokyo after becoming bored of passing judgment on others. She proceeded 120 kilometers south to the island of Oshima. Komiyama Nagisa, a young girl, born and bred on the island, met her there. Hideko agreed to assist Nagisa at her izakaya “Kazemachiya,” which passes down from her grandpa. Hideko then begins her “second life,” meeting a variety of people experiencing various difficulties in their lives. In each episode of the story, a person who has been exhausted in Tokyo will come to Oshima and Hinode’s izakaya. Customers told Hiroko about their troubles, and Hiroko, who likes to preach and is “nosy,” can always give them life advice and lead them out of the predicament.

The Feel-Good Part

The series is very eye-captivating.

The Disappointing Factor

Nothing is disappointing in the series.

In-Depth Analysis

The main character, Hideko Mano, was born and raised in Tokyo and is a former judge of Toru Hatsushi, who hates bending and has judged and rehabilitated many defendants. She has had many careers as a judge, but she gets tired of feeling people, and decides to retire. Then, in the wake of something, Hideko went to Oshima. Oshima, the setting for the drama, is an island in the Pacific Ocean that is 120 kilometers away from Tokyo and is also known as “Tokyo Island” in Tokyo. In this work, the charming human pattern and island gourmet can be nurtured because it is where you can forget the passage of time left unattended from the hustle and bustle of the city, which is full of nature that you can not imagine in Tokyo, is drawn deeply. At that place, she met a quiet young shopkeeper, Nagisa Komiyama, who runs the “Kazamachiya” inherited from her grandfather, and Oshima’s famous “Kusaya.” Open the door to the second story! The story of an island full of humanity, where the human patterns intersect because it is an island in Tokyo and the gourmet that can behave because it is Oshima are slowly and gently unfolded.

Star Power

Katagiri Hairi as Mano Hideko, Kudo Ayano as Oomiyama Nagisa, Yoza Yoshiaki as Minami Ippei, Matsukawa Naruki as Kitano Yasuo, Umegaki Yoshiaki as Nishiura Tatsuhiko did a steller performance.
