Drama Digest

The Wife tells the story of a very rich, well-known, educated, and esteemed couple. Everyone thinks they are happily married, but in reality, they have many problems. Trouble begins with her husband, Aniroot, who is a player and has many mistresses. His wife, Wiganda, is a shrewd woman who puts up with his cheating and his many lovers.

The Feel-Good Part

The author tried to make the story more exciting through this psychological war between the couple. The side plots created more depth in the story. The acting was admirable.

The Disappointing Factor

The plot even with new subplots does not improve. It’s about a woman contemplating how to deal with her husband’s many infidelities as she continues to insist that the only person, he truly loves is herself. The characters were absurd and very unlikeable.

In-Depth Analysis

The Wife also known as Mia Luang is a Thai drama that tells the story of a very rich, well-known, educated, and esteemed couple. Everyone thinks they are happily married, but in reality, they have many problems. Trouble begins with her husband, Aniroot, who is a womanizer and has many mistresses. His wife, Wiganda, is a sharp lady who puts up with his cheating and his many lovers. Ornin is one of his many lovers who have no shame coming between the couple openly and causing problems. The author tried to make this story more interesting by adding other subplots that should show not only this psychological warfare between men and women but also added other side plots to show the deep and complex psyche of the secondary characters. The acting, for most of the show, is admirable. But while the show tries to impress viewers, the results are disappointing, over-the-top, and unnatural for most of the cast. The ending is also unsatisfying. Ruth is punished, but the dastardly Ornn gets little to no punishment. Her ex-husband, who appears as her only sympathetic character, turns out to be her punishment, as he appears to continue to pursue her as revenge. This is a game where victory depends on the state of each puzzled character. You’re only a victim if you allow yourself to be a victim, and if you don’t know you’re playing, you’ll lose by default.

Star Power

The star power of the show is the cast and the writing. The characters, the story arc, and the relationship development were all well-thought. The actors did a brilliant work of portraying their characters, and the understanding between them was natural.

Overall Opinion

The Wife also known as Mia Luang tells the story of a very rich, well-known, educated, and esteemed couple. Everyone thinks they are happily married, but in reality, they have many problems. Despite its poor material and potential, the writers tried to update it by making it more complex, but there was nothing consistent compared to the original.
