Drama Digest
A problem causes Zhang Chi, a six-time racing champion who was arrogant and dominant, to lose his popularity. The now single father of a six-year-old son challenges the next generation of racing geniuses once again and wants to reclaim his former glory after serving a five-year suspension from the sport. The father-and-son team braves a brand-new world of auto racing with little time remaining in their professional careers at over forty, which puts them in some quite comical situations. Zhang Chi gathers with his old colleagues on the way back to the race track in order to protect his honor and a father’s pledge to his son. Together, they make a determined effort to win the title while taking punches well.
The Feel-Good Part
The message behind the movie is heartwarming. It makes the whole movie wholesome. The positive attitude that remains throughout the movie by the lead even though they experience so many ups and downs is inspiring.
The Disappointing Factor
The movie is a bit of a cliché, and that should have been worked on. The movie could have been polished a bit more to ensure its better execution, and then it would be perfect.
In-Depth Analysis
Since he was a little boy, Zhang Chi (Shen Teng) has desired to be a rally driver. He has five Bayinbrook Rally victories in his racing career, which marks the top level in the nation. He was in his prime and barely 32 years old when he won the top prize in Chinese racing. Zhang Chi was forced to quit the track due to the birth of his son, Zhang Fei, and his ban for taking part in illegal drag racing. Yet he never gave up his racing goal in his heart, and he wanted to show his kid the grandeur he had enjoyed. He obeys the law during the five-year ban, survives on fried rice, establishes a book stand to support his family, and vows never to touch a car once more. He only wants to return to the circuit at this point. After the driver’s license is received, the racing license will be instantly issued. The year’s best navigator, Sun Yuqiang (Yin Zheng), was discovered by Zhang Chi. Sun Yuqiang quit the squad when Zhang Chi was suspended and found work doing odd things. He stubbornly left his job after receiving a call from Zhang Chi and started racing again for Zhang Chi. At the moment, Lin Zhendong (Huang Jingyu) is the most well-known rally driver. At the age of thirteen, he got racing instruction in England, and at the age of eighteen, he witnessed Zhang Chi compete. When Lin Zhendong, then 20, moved back to China, he intended to race against Zhang Chi on the track. But Zhang Chi had been suspended due to the incident. Lin Zhendong has distinguished himself during the last five years and taken over as the new ruler of Bayinbulak Circuit. He would quit the Chinese arena the following year. At this year’s Bayinbulak Rally, he intends to confront Zhang Chi in a duel to determine who the true monarch of Bayinbulak is, finally receiving the resolution he has been seeking for the past five years. The rally is won by him, but as soon as he reaches the finish line, he crashes and passes away.
