Drama Digest

The drama depicted the vulgar humiliations of Korea’s patricians of the robe who dreamt of genetic succession. Han Hye Ryul is appointed as the respective department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office. Han Hye Ryul belonged to a family of judicial workers who had wealth for three generations. She is an ambitious figure and not satisfied with her current position and aims at becoming a prosecutor general.

The Feel-good Part

It was a balanced rom-com drama. The story was amazing and presented well. The cinematography was outstanding.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama isn’t funny or soul food at any point. It provokes by intelligently and multi-layered confronting the ugly sides of the glamorous world. The drama portrayed a dull, tired, and boring pictures of the rich.

In-depth Analysis

The Empire stylizes that outrageously wealthy and influential elite society who can afford a lifestyle that the rest of the society can’t. Wealth was presented in a feudal manner, but it seemed a bit pietistic. The conservative elite feigns progressiveness by throwing snippets of English. It seemed artificial but not convincing. Friends to lovers story is one sub-genre that cannot be easily understood. Yeo Reum is a successful woman and has a career in drama-making. Now, she is pessimistic about her chance of getting the right partner. Yeo Reum’s close friend, Jae Hoon, has a sad backstory. How he feels for Reum is not revealed fully. It told the narrative of a woman who, out of serious confidence and faith in a legal system, wanted to undermine the autocratic coalition.

Star Power

The leads did well, and they portrayed their roles nicely, but at times, it felt that Choi Si had a difficult time showing deep emotions. The characters appearing to be holy have something deep driving them.

Overall Opinion

The drama had a different level, and many things were interconnected at the same time.
