This magical poison Millennial Udumbara is a cure for any other poison and helps rejuvenate youth. After discovering that the legend of the Poison Bride has been active and is using the poisonous worms drained from humans to gain her youthfulness, she is waiting for the general who has passed away to come back and marry her. The Princess fights head-on with the Poison Bride and destroys her evil schemes of exploiting anyone else.

The Feel-Good Part

The plot for the movie will make audiences intrigued by the dangerous supernatural world that got depicted. The visual effects and direction also bring out the essence of this film well. The portrayal of every female character was powerful, and they all have well-developed story arcs. The martial arts and performance by the cast were believable and realistic enough to watch. They ended the movie on a mysterious note which was also quite unpredictable. The Poison Bride’s character was pitiful, hateful, and emotionally packed with a well-done portrayal of it all.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie had few plot holes and had few unwanted filler scenes. This movie seems just like any other Chinese historical fantasy, as it might not have unique content for the viewers or any epic turn of events. The surprise elements are non-significant that might take out the fun of those moments.

In-Depth Analysis

The movie starts in a fascinating time with an unworldly kingdom. The Ghost Valley has a new addition of poison that can give anyone everlasting youth. The Poison Bride needs it to keep her from aging so she can meet her lover, who has been a General. She has hypnotized the whole village and uses a human body as a host to collect venomous worms. The king of Qin and the Princess goes on a quest to destroy the Poison Bride’s plans and make the kingdom safe again. A beautifully painful story about love and greed that can turn people evil.

Star Power

The movie is directed and written by Hao Zhao He. Cheng Mu Xuan, a Chinese actress, portrays the character of Princess Han Yun Xi, and Yu Xuan Hong Hao plays the role of Long Fei Ye in this movie.

Overall Opinion

This movie might be a good option for historical romance fantasy lovers though it might be a stretch to call it a thriller or mystery as it does not reach those genre levels. Still, this movie could be a good experience with a fantastical premise.
