Drama Digest

As the name goes by, the story revolves around a cafe named Minamdang. Nam Han Joon, a former convict presently released from prison, recently opens up the cafe. He acts as a shaman who provides therapy. Trouble begins when a detective named Han Jae Hee comes into contact with Nam Han Joon and starts an investigation of her recent case.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is a combination of thriller, comedy, and mystery, all blended into one. They well executed it compared to all the elements present in the show. After each episode, they provided an epilogue that allowed the viewers to understand the crime scenes and the foreplay of any situation. The mystery was interesting to watch with the romantic comedy. The plot twist at the end fitted the series well, and the romance blended in the middle.

The Disappointing Factor

Although the series had a satisfactory blend of elements, the storylines at some points seemed forced. The twists were unnecessary, according to fans and excess comedy made it lose the plot.

In-Depth Analysis

The reason behind Nam Han Joon’s imprisonment was an accusation that he fabricated evidence to prove a murder. The murder of his close friend Jae Jung, who was a prosecutor, left him guilty. Despite trying, he could not save him from dying, as it focused him on the murderer. After getting released from prison, he opened up a cafe named Minamdang. He plays the role of a fortune teller and scams people by selling fake information. Nam Han Joon attracts customers with his charming appearance and polite talking skills. He has two followers: Nam Hye Joon, his sister, and Gong Soo Cheol, who owns a private detective agency. Later, he comes into contact with detective Han Jae Hee, who started investigating a fresh case.

Star Power

They took the series from a web novel titled “Minamdang: Case Note” written by Jung Jae ha. Platform’s web novel contest awarded it the grand prize. The show received most of its recognition from Seo In Guk, whose recent drama “Doom at your service” went a blockbuster.

Overall Opinion

This show will leave you with all kinds of emotions, from suspense to laughter. It is an excellent show to watch provided the lesser need for investment and a fun storyline.
