
Drama Digest
Fu Ze Yi is a young tyrant of Fu’s Anju Group and experiences personality disorder due to a kidnapping incident in his childhood. He is handsome looking but has an emotionless and insouciant personality towards everyone around him. His alter ego is named, Lin is a complete opposite with a melancholy persona who likes to play the violin. The alter personality falls in love with Jing Zhi Xia and tries to take total control of Fu Ze Yi’s body. After meeting her again, Fu Ze Yi becomes consciously aware and gradually awakens. During the short times of unconsciousness, the altered personality takes advantage to help Jing Zhi Xia through difficult situations but also realizes that she is falling in love with Fu Ze Yi. This unique love triangle becomes more complicated as the dual personalities fight for the same girl.
The Feel-Good Part
This show talks about a psychological disorder that occurred due to a dark past incident which was believable and realistic. As the plot mainly focuses on the love triangle concept, which got well portrayed, it also touches on psychological topics and some social subjects that contrast with the main plotline. It makes the series all round in every way. The romantic and comedic aspects got well showcased. The acting is decent, and the character development is digestible to watch. The finale is satisfying as it helps to show viewers a solution to his dual personality and the acknowledgement that the alter ego is only a fantasy that emerged from a dangerous incident. Even though some parts are clichéd, it still manages to keep audiences invested and enjoyable. The musical OST is also one of the highlights of this drama.
The Disappointing Factor
There are too many plotholes and insensible twists that can make viewers disappointed. Some storylines are predictable and tasteless, which might get dull to watch. The portrayal of the female lead was questionable as she felt too inexperienced and stupid for a hotel owner. The production value is a bit low for this series which is visible on screen.
In-Depth Analysis
Fall In Love is a romantic drama portraying a man with a split-personality disorder that has to be kept a secret from everybody. New situations arise as he alter ego falls in love with a rich materialistic girl running an inherited hotel but needs help due to her poor management. Soon the man figures out that his alter ego is helping this girl but tries his best to stay away from her. But he also falls in love with her, and an unusual love triangle forms. The girl still does not know about his mental suffering and believes he has forgotten about her. The series captures mental issues topics and psychological concepts that provide some depth to the usual plot.
Star Power
The show got directed by Zeng Qing Jie and written by Ma Yuan, Ren Xin Yuan, and Zhang Meng Lin. Joey Chua plays the role of Jing Zhi Xia, Xiao Kai Zhong plays the role of Fu Ze Yi and Lin, Peng Gao Chang plays Ai Xin, and Huang Yun Yun plays He Bei Er in this show.
Overall Opinion
It is a romantic comedy-drama with a hint of psychological aspect that allows viewers to deal with the mix of emotions. It is a watch that will surprise the audience with new elements. Even though it has a few setbacks, it is a worthwhile series that deserves a chance.
