Suvanant Kongying, commonly known as Kob, is a Thai actress who was born on July 22, 1978, in Bangkok. In the 1990s and 2000s, she starred in a number of Thai lakorns. She has acted in several of lakorns (dramas), including Dao pra sook with Sornram Teppitak, in which she played the main character Dao. For several years, she has been the people’s choice winner for best actress. Sornram Teppitak is her leading lakorn partner, and she is Thailand’s most famous actress.
Her first appearance in an authentic Thai folklore drama earned her tremendous acclaim and her first significant acting award, the first of many she has received since then. She then went on to star in Dao pra sook (Morning Star), in which she played a teen who was orphaned as a baby but grew up to learn that she is wanted by a number of individuals, notably the primary male character. Her acting partner, Danuporn Poonnakan, commonly known as Brook, is now her husband. Suvanant graduated from Rangsit University with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts. She was given an undisclosed quantity of money – thought to be in the millions of baht – to serve as a speaker for Mistine cosmetics.
Suvanant Kongying gave a speech in 2003 saying that Angkor Wat belonged to Thailand, according to a Cambodian newspaper, an accusation that was ultimately proven to be false. This sparked the 2003 riots in Phnom Penh, which resulted in the destruction of the Thai embassy in Cambodia. Suvanant was born in Sirirat Hospital and spent her early years in Chachoengsao with her grandma. She and her family relocated to Bangkok when she was three or four years old. Her father, Amnuay Kongying, was a teacher who died in November 2001, and her mother, Ubonrat Kongying, works for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Apisith Golf Kongying, her younger brother, is her other sibling. Suvanant has been performing since he was a child. Suvanant is also recognised for co-hosting with Nattawut Skidjai the popular show Jun Pun Dao.
